A 16-year-old swimmer broke the record at the 2025 U.S. Swimming Championships on Wednesday, Michael Phelps’ 2028 Olympic Radar.
Whenever Phelps' name plays a role in the pool, it's an amazing feat considering the Americans' 28 Olympic medals (23 gold medals), which is an all-time record.
But Luka Mijatovic scored a record from Phelps after releasing a 200-meter freestyle time of 1:45.92, which not only broke the record for the 15-16-year-old age group (1:47.29), but also the 17-18-year-old age group held by Phelps.

Phelps swam in 1:45.99, but Mijatovic only beat him on the last lap.
The Summer Olympics is still three years away from returning to Los Angeles, but Mijatovic is certainly the one to watch after his performance.

Mijatovic has been building his job until both the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle both finished first in the California State Federation State Championship in May.

He is one of the highest-ranked high school swimmers and is currently ranked No. 1 in California.
The high school student has been surrounded by some Olympians at the swimming tournament that began Tuesday.
Torri Huske, Bobby Finke has won the event's 1500-meter freestyle, while the mature Katie Ledecky is the guy who competes in Indianapolis.

These championships are a place for swimmers to earn a spot in the World Championships, which will be held in Singapore in July and August.
