Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has fallen into a coma after undergoing "emergency" surgery in several UK reports, according to multiple UK reports.
Nigeria International was injured when collided with the goal frame after a 2-2 draw at Leicester's second half substitute.
Injuries are the subject of live discussions in serious debates between club managers and owners.
Awoniyi was placed in a coma caused to help him recover from his actions on Monday by helping to limit his movements and adjust his heart rate, PA News reported. According to the BBC, the second part of his surgery is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.
Forest issued a statement after Awoniyi's surgery, saying he was "well recovered." The team has two games left in the Premier League - at home in West Ham and Chelsea, they are trying to compete in the Champions League.
After the match against Leicester, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis entered the field and protested with manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Espirito Santo said Marinakis was frustrated by poor communication between the bench and medical staff after Awoniyi's injury.
After treatment, the 27-year-old striker said he could go on, so Espirito Santo left him and immediately replaced his final replacement, evacuating Elliot Anderson from Jota Silva in the first minute of downtime.
However, Awoniyi felt uncomfortable with the rest of the game, which actually lowered the forest to 10 players and hindered hope for the winner.
Forest said in a statement that Marinakis' post-match reaction "is one of the deep concerns, responsibility and emotional investments in one of ourselves."
"In moments like this, he demonstrated his leadership not only through words, but through action and presence," the statement said. "In the last 10 minutes of the game, he was increasingly difficult to stay on the court as he saw our players clearly feeling uncomfortable and struggling in obvious pain.
“He was very upset to see our players lying on the ground – someone who no one would ignore would ignore that – triggered him to enter the court. It was instinct, human, and it reflected what this team and people mean to him.”
Marinakis has renounced his position as a man with significant control over the forest in recent weeks as the club is closed for unlikely Champions League qualification.
If the owner has a "decisive influence" on two eligible clubs, UEFA has regulations that you can compete in any season. Marinakis is also the president of the Olympics, who won the Greek championship.
The two rounds of the season are about to go, and Forest is ranked seventh, behind Chelsea No. 5. The top five will qualify for the Champions League.
