"Stranger's Eyes" North America reached an agreement with the movie movement

The film movement has landed North American power in "Stranger Eyes", a surveillance-themed thriller from Singaporean director Yeo Siew Hua, which competes for the Golden Lion in Venice in 2024.

Psychological thriller star Taiwanese cinema idol Lee Kang-sheng ("days") is with Chien-Ho Wu and Anicca Panna. The story centers on a young Singaporean couple whose world is broken when their young daughter disappears from the playground. Their nightmare aggravates daily life before and after disappearing after receiving mysterious surveillance footage, leading them to suspect that their neighbor Wu (Lee) might be involved.

The deal was negotiated between film sports president Michael Rosenberg and Playtime's Nicolas Brigaud-Robert. Distributors plan to release dramas in 2025, followed by digital and home entertainment promotions.

"The Eyes of Stranger" marks a compelling follow-up to Yeo, who previously won Locarno's Golden Lion, winning with "a land of imagination." Critics praised the film’s complex approach to surveillance cultural and psychological complexity. typeGuy Lodge calls it "a glittering atmosphere and elegant nonlinearity" while highlighting Lee's "grave, a reserve of sadness."

The film has attracted widespread attention, winning Best Movie at Valladolid and Best Original Score at the Golden Horse Film Festival, with five nominations. It is also screened at New York, BFI London and Stockholm Film Festivals.

"Given the current technology and surveillance state, Yeo really hits the nerves with a written script that raises some questions about how we live in contemporary society," Rosenberg said.

The structure of this film is a joint adventure of Taiwan-Franci-American in Singapore. It was produced by Fran Borgia for Singapore’s Akanga film (“Imagined Land”, “Tiger Stripes”); Stefano Centini is a Taiwanese Volos film (“Tomorrow is Long”) For a while, "Seter"); Jean-Laurent Csinidis for France's film De Force Majure ("Little Palestine, Siege Diary", "A Holy Family"); and Alex C. Ronaldo . Playtime is handling international sales.

The acquisition adds to the growth slate of the film movement, which includes Jim McKay’s newly restored “Women’s Town”, Oscar of Belgium’s Oscar submission “Julie Keep Quiet” , Lou Ye, "Cannes in the Oklahoma Mountains will not choose "My Sunshine".
