Sparks fly in high-risk houses, hearing threats to ice

The sparks of the guerrillas are expected to fly Tuesday as lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee rigorously cracked down on President Donald Trump’s strict crackdown on illegal immigrants.

The group's oversight subcommittee will hold a hearing at 2pm on Tuesday to threaten immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) operations.

Tensions remained high last month at the incident at the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, when three House Democrats and the city’s progressive mayor were accused of “storming” the facility in protests against Trump’s handling of illegal immigration.

Rep. Lamonica McIver, one of those Democratic lawmakers, was charged with assault, while the invasion charges against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka are being dropped. McPver called the allegation “purely political.”

Tuesday's hearing was led by Rep. Jeff Van Drew, RN.J., who represents the southernmost part of Garden State.

"Democratic leaders are working tirelessly to stop these efforts despite the decisive action taken by the Trump administration to resolve the crisis. What happened in my hometown of New Jersey is just the latest example, and it is simply unacceptable."

"We have witnessed protests led by elected officials against ice officials who are just working. These officials are more focused on protecting violent criminals than keeping their communities safe."

He said the subcommittee's investigation would "disclose how asylum policy and anti-implementation speech put public safety at risk."

The Democrat on the subcommittee is Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas is a rising star on the left and is known to be the headlines of speech explosions, especially for Republicans. Her office did not respond to a request for comment at the hearing. But D-FLA Rep. Jared Moskowitz said he was ready to defend Democratic officials in the Delaney Hall incident.

"I think if they want to do anything to these three members, then I think they'll get a Trump pardon, right?" Moskowitz told Fox News Digital.

Meanwhile, R-Texas Rep. Brandon Gill, who is also in the panel, said: "What we are trying to understand is why Democrats tend to prevent the president from expelling murderers, rapists and terrorists in the world?"

"I mean, they lifted the ice facility and broke into them. They've fought us in every step," Gill said.

“I think we’re going to put them on the scene and go to the bottom.”

Democratic officials at the Delaney Hall Incident Center and their allies believe they have the right to enter the facility as federal officials. Both sides accused the other party of attack and mishandling.
