Elon Musk said Thursday that his company SpaceX will begin to retire its Dragon Spacecraft “immediately” due to President Donald Trump’s threat to cancel his contract with Musk’s business.
But a few hours later, Musk said, "Okay, we won't retire the Dragon", and the X user urged him to "calm down and back a few days."

"In view of the president's statement about canceling my government contract, @spacex will immediately begin to retire the Qilong spacecraft," Musk wrote.
Dragon is the only option for crew members in the United States to and from the International Space Station.
Musk’s initial tweet about retired Dragon responded to Trump’s truth-fact social position, writing: “Save money, multibillion-dollar budget, the easiest way to save money is to terminate Elon’s government subsidies and contracts.”

X user with handle @fab25june asked Musk to reconsider on Thursday night.
@Fab25June tweeted on Musk: "It's a pity." "You both are better than that. Calm down and back a few days."
Musk quickly replied: "Okay advice. OK, we won't retire the Dragon."
Joe Wiesenthal, co-host of Bloomberg's Strange Podcast, admired the on-screen communication in his own tweet and quipped: "Accounts with 184 followers have reached a downgrade between the two most powerful people in the world."
How much lowered, how long it will last, and how severe the musk will be for the dragon’s fate, this is one way or another, and remains to be seen.
Musk bubbles in a tweet against Trump and what he calls a big and beautiful Bill (Thud). It is unclear whether he will be extinguished against any game in the next few days.
Trump is not sure he will forgive him and will not avoid slamming Musk at him, who was one of his top administration advisers until last Friday, spent more than a quarter of his money in supporting Trump's 2024 White House campaign.
"Without me, Trump will lose the election," Musk tweeted earlier on Thursday.
"Dems will control the House and Republicans will be 51-49 in the Senate," Musk added.
"This dissatisfaction," he wrote.
One-stop capsules brought NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams back to Earth in March, and the two were trapped by Boeing superstar capsules for several months.
Recently, a Dragon spacecraft delivered 6,700 pounds of crew supplies, scientific investigations and equipment to the ISS on April 22.
There are seven people on the ISS, currently a mission led by Russian astronaut Aleksey Ovchinin. Three NASA astronauts are part of the crew.
NASA Press Secretary Bethany Stevens wrote in a tweet after Musk’s announcement: “NASA will continue to implement the president’s vision for the future of space.”
"We will continue to work with our industry partners to ensure the president's goal in space is achieved," Stevens wrote.
SpaceX is one of the largest federal contractors. Since 2008, SpaceX has received more than $20 billion in contracts from NASA, the Air Force and other agencies.
According to SpaceX's website, "The Dragon Spacecraft is able to carry up to seven passengers to and from Earth orbit, and beyond."
"This is the only spacecraft that can return large amounts of cargo to Earth and is the first private spacecraft to bring humans to the space station," the company said.
SpaceX has been developing alternatives to dragons.
In November, SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell said the company would use the dragon for another seven to eight years.
The company is currently testing its Starship rocket, which exploded for the third time in its launch in May.
