SNL movie assembles actors for football comedy "Olde Boys"

The SNL film unveils the cast and creative team behind the football comedy "Olde Boys". The film is written, directed and produced by Nick Wilkinson and producer Lisa G. Black, and is also handled by ScreenBound, which is sold worldwide.

The film began major photography in the UK and the US in September this year

The film tells the story of small-town lawyer and weekend striker Mike Giordano, whose over-50 football team is collapsing - until he enters the World Masters in England with the help of his vibrant teenage daughter and coach Frankie.

The film is played by Tuc Watkins ("Desperate Housewife", "Undeped"), and is the team's self-appointed leader and the adorable Schemer's Mike Giordano. Guy Nardulli is Nico Tavakoli, a risk-risk prankster. Jay Huguley ("12 Years A Slave") is the rough captain Rob Mason who hides deep insecurity.

Ray Fearon ("Beauty and the Beast", "Harry Potter") is the rock star MVP (the most valuable player) Travis Richards, and the Devil matches his talent.

Cailey Fleming ("The Walking Dead", "If") is playing Frankie Giordano with the movie "Young Heart and Tactical Genius". Shanley Caswell ("The Conjuring") is also in talks, with August Diehl ("Indlious Basterds") playing a key role.

The project is positioned as a smart, feel-good crowd with a wide global appeal inspired by fan favorite champions like "Ted Lasso", "The Full Monty" and "Fishermen's Friends".

"'Olde Boys' is the story of my life and love - about the beauty of friendship, reshaping and gaming," Wilkinson said. "This movie celebrates that timeless feeling, no matter what your knees tell you."

Wilkinson's debut feature, Death on Brandywine, will be screened at the Cannes Market on May 19. This is the mystery of the political murder starring Kate Burton, Tuc Watkins, Guy Nardulli and Satomi Hofmann. It is currently on sale. Wilkinson plays alongside Black, directs and produces.

Black, known for titles such as "The Birdcatcher", "Miles", "Hevn" and "Broce Baris", brings decades of experience to the project. She is also co-chair of the American Capital Regional Producers Association.

"Old Boys" is scheduled to premiere in 2026, consistent with the FIFA World Cup.
