Four anonymous housekeepers sued Motown Legend Smokey Robinson for $50 million (£37 million) for sexual assault.
The complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court alleges that the 85-year-old had sexual assault, false imprisonment, negligence and gender violence, as well as numerous labor violations related to wages, rest time, meal time and overtime pay.
The lawsuit also cited Robinson’s wife, Frances Robinson, who claimed to have contributed to a hostile work environment and used “racially derogatory words and language.”
The Robinson representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment and therefore could not independently verify the allegations.
Robinson was the first destiny man in Motown, writing Mary Wells's The Guy'My Girl.
Born in William Robinson Jr, Michigan, he was both a talent scout on the record company and one of its most famous record artists, known for my tears, wandering around and the tears of the clown.
He has attractions in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame and claims to have credits on more than 4,000 songs.
Robinson's reputation and figure are a scary factor in his accusers, their lawyer said in a Los Angeles press conference.
"They are Hispanic women hired by Robinsons and their wages are below the minimum wage," John Harris said.
“Because low-wage women are in a vulnerable position, they lack the resources and options necessary to protect themselves from sexual assault.”

All four women said they worked 10 hours a day, six days a week, without paying minimum wage or overtime. They also claimed to have worked on holidays without getting them.
