Small-cap cryptocurrencies rise ahead of Trump inauguration, Bitcoin trades near $100,000

Cryptocurrency prices surged on Thursday as investor interest shifted toward smaller, riskier cryptocurrencies ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.
