Authorities said Sunday that six people were injured and some could have been burned at an outdoor shopping center in Boulder, Colorado. Police said a man was detained in the 13th attack and the attack on Pearl Street. FBI agents are also investigating what the agency calls “targeted terrorist attacks.” A male suspect was identified as Mohamed Sabry Soliman and was detained.
All six victims, ranging in age from 67 to 88, were transported to hospital after the suspect put the "burning device" into the crowd, said Mark Michalek, a special agent at the Denver Field Office, during a press conference Sunday night. Mihalek said the suspect could be heard shouting "Free Palestine". No immediate lawsuit was filed, but District Attorney Michael Dougherty said the attackers would be "fully responsible".
"A man is throwing a Molotov cocktail and using equipment to hurt people," said Boulder Police Chief Steven Redfearn. He said at least one victim was in a serious, possible situation.
People gathered on Pearl Street to participate in a group of walkers participating in their life activities. According to its website, a series of incidents “call to the immediate release of hostages held by Hamas.”
"This terrorist act is being investigated based on early information, evidence and witnesses, ideologically motivated violence. When facts guarantee facts, we will talk clearly about these events."
The incident occurred around 1:26 pm when Boulder police dispatch received several calls reporting that “there is a man with weapons and people are on fire,” Redfield said in an afternoon press conference in the afternoon. He said when police arrived at the scene there were “multiple victims”, “injuries consistent with burns” and other injuries, from childhood to very serious.
The male suspect was pointed out and was detained, without any incidents and was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, Redfearns said.
In an earlier press conference, Redfearn noted that a group of pro-Israeli people held "peaceful demonstrations" that "had happen frequently" in the area. Redfearn said at the time it was too early to determine the motivation. “It’s irresponsible for me, and I speculate on this early motivation,” they are still interviewing witnesses.
Redfearns said the scene itself has included, and police are investigating the area’s “tools of interest”. Several blocks around the outdoor shopping center have been evacuated.
"We have been aware of and fully investigated the targeted terrorist attacks in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are already on site and we will share updates as more information increases."

Israel's war in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas led the attacks in southern Israel, including participants in Supernova Festival, which resulted in more than 1,200 civilians and kidnapped 251 hostages. There are still 58 hostages, and it is not clear how many people are alive, and after many others comply with the ceasefire agreement and other deals, others are still alive. As Associated Press Israeli military campaign reportedly killed more than 54,000 people in Gaza, mainly Gaza’s Ministry of Health, mostly women and children, and these ministries did not determine how many civilians or combatants there were.
