President Donald Trump took to social media to express his support for the quarterback when Shedeur Sanders continued his unprecedented fall in the NFL draft last month.
"I'm really grateful. I'm really grateful," Sanders, 23, told reporters on Saturday.
"He included, there are a lot of fans, a lot of people in the barber shop, a lot of hair stylists, my craft and my family and my family can support it. I just thank me for having that foundation in general. As people, we can all come together as one."

Trump expressed his frustration with the former Colorado star who was not selected before the start of the second round.
"What's the problem with NFL owners, are they stupid? Deion Sanders is a great college football player, bigger in the NFL. He's also a very good coach, Streetwise and Smart! So his quarterback son Shedeur has the genes of phenomenon and is great," he said.

"He should be immediately 'selected' by a team that wants to win. Good luck and say hello to your amazing father!"
The Cleveland Browns picked Sanders with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round, and Sanders will compete for the starting quarterback job.
Sanders is one of five quarterbacks on the roster and the team has no clear starter. Deshaun Watson ruptured the Achilles tendon for the second time after undergoing surgery for the same tendon in October 2024. His position in the upcoming season is doubtful.

The Browns acquired Kenny Pickett in a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and signed a one-year contract ahead of the NFL draft. With third-round picks Dillon Gabriel and Sanders in the quarterback room that is already full, it remains to be seen who will get a Week 1 nod.
Sanders and Gabriel served as members of the Browns for the first time in Friday’s first rookie small training camp.
