Seth Trimble’s strong reaction after North Carolina teammates transfer to opponent

Seth Trimble's strong reaction after North Carolina teammates moved to opponents initially appeared on Athlon Sports.

Former UNC player Ven-Allen Lubin is committed to state rival NC State, which adds Wolfpack’s already strong transfer class.

Lubin is the second time he has entered North Carolina State University in the past two years. Dontrez's Styles played for Wolfpack last season after serving in Georgetown and UNC last season.

According to 247 Sports, Lubin is the eighth transfer of new head coach Will Wade. Wade was introduced as head coach in March 2025 after Kevin Keatts was fired that month.

With Lubin increasing, 247 Sports now ranks Wolfpack’s upcoming transfer class No. 13 in the U.S.

ON3's Joe Tipton reported the news on Monday.

“North Carolina shifts forward Ven-Allen Lubin’s commitment to North Carolina, he told @on3🐺”

Seth Trimble, a 6-foot-3 defender who just finished his third season at Chapel Hill, responded to Tipton's post by sharing videos of himself entering the face of a player in NC State.

Lubin is the 6-foot-11 striker in Orlando, with tar heels averaging 8.6 points per game and team-best 5.5 rebounds last season. He averaged 13.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game over the last 10 games, saving his best game at the end of the season. He also won doubles in four of his last six games.

Lubin's announcement was a little surprised by Tar Heel fans. Back in April, he entered the transfer portal and expressed interest in staying with North Carolina.

"I let everyone know that I am entering the transfer portal before anyone can reach a wrong conclusion with the intention of returning to UNC. My actions have to do with the complexity of the approval surrounding the pending NCAA resolution," Lubin wrote on X.

Before anyone can reach the wrong conclusion, I let everyone know that I am fully entering the transfer portal to return to UNC. My actions involve the complexity of possible approvals surrounding the pending NCAA resolution.

Prior to his single season at North Carolina, Lubin played in freshman seasons at Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. The upcoming Wolfpack season will be the final year of his college basketball qualification.
