Seth Rogen, Pam Anderson, Rachel Zegler movies

Will some serious star powers revitalize the Cannes film market?

This is the biggest problem facing sales agents as studios and streaming hit Croisette with a compelling new movie. In Sundance, Berlin and Toronto, the film business seems to be in the pain of massive contraction. Studios like Warner Bros., Disney and Paramount, and their independent brothers spend freely when launching their own internal challengers to Netflix and are in full cost-cut mode. The fact that complicates things is that tech giants like Apple and Amazon focus on producing internal content after projects and packaging burned during the holidays. This leaves many filmmakers still looking for releases after the crowds are dispersed.

But the sunshine in southern France (or perhaps a free-flowing rose) always leads to a war or two. Here are 16 projects, and the buzz of these projects, maybe, maybe, could be the same Hollywood spending as in 2019.

"bunker"
Throw: Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz
director: Florian Zeller
mechanism: CAA, WME, Film (International)
Why should buyers care about it: Zeller, director of the Oscar-winning "Father" and a well-known playwright, returns to the screen with the thriller, tells the story of an architect riding an architect to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire. Given how much headlines are about nearly one-hundred, that sounds important. (We may or may not refer to certain Godfathers of all things). Participate in real life married couples Bardem and Cruz, who usually inflate when paired with movies, and you have all the special ingredients.

"urchin"
Throw: Frank Dillane, Megan Northam
director: Harris Dickinson
mechanism:charades
Why should buyers care about it:Dickinson shows off his other side, which makes his feature director debut, telling the story of a drifter trying to reintegrate into society. The film debuted in a certain aspect of the University of Cannes, and - unseen - the early buzz was strong, and Dickinson clearly sent a compelling portrait of how the system allowed people to deal with mental health issues.

"Unt titled celebrity pass comedy"
Throw: Zoey Deutch, Jon Hamm, Ben Wang, John Slattery
director: David Wain
mechanism:WME
Why should buyers care about it: It was a "madman" party, where Ham and Slatri share the screen with Dyche in the woman's story, her woman threatens her relationship with her fiancé after using the Celebrity Hall pass. Once the comedy in the most reliable genre commercials, R-rated comedy seemed ready for Revival and Wain, who scored on the likes of “Sorry Model” and “Spicy American Summer” and he knew how to laugh.

"ruins"
Throw: Gal Gadot, Matthias Schoenaerts
director: Niki Caro
mechanism: UTA, WME, CAA, Veterans (International)
Why buyers care about: As “Mulan” proves, Carlo can perform historic works with the best of them. She has an evocative background, the “ruins” took place after World War II and followed the recently released camp prisoner (Gadot), who worked with a German soldier (Schoenaerts) to revenge on the Nazi SS lineup.

"Alma"
Throw: Pamela Anderson, Dakota Fanning, Lindsay Duncan
director: Sally Potter
mechanism: Bank page
Why should buyers care about it: "Ammunition" continues. Anderson made his mark in The Last Showgirl, leading an ensemble that included a Fanning and Duncan, a family that reunited his mother's ashes. Instead of getting a good dispatch and some common commemoration, they are going to deal with the existence she continues to bother. Potter made Arthouse classics like Orlando, which has a special trick to spinning this type of alternative yarn.

"invite"
Throw: Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Cruz Peninsula, Norton Edward
director: Olivia wants
mechanism: Movie Country, UTA
Why should buyers care about it: Wilde directed the acclaimed "Booksmart" and the commercially successful main spinner "Don't worry about my dear" with an enviable record behind the camera. This relationship comedy sounds like an envelope promoter (in a good way), tells the story of a couple, and the story of “knowing you” with neighbors also uncovers some deeply repressed feelings and unexplored sexual behavior. Interestingly, comic geniuses like Rogen play in Norton and Cruz, although award-winning dramatists show they know how to punch in movies like "Birdman" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

“6 billion dollars”
director: Eugene Jarecki
mechanism: WME
Why buyers care about: Jarecki is no stranger to the hot ass problem and controversial characters, who has previously solved everything from the drug war to the military industrial complex to Henry Kissinger. Jarecki, with his latest documentary, “The $6 Billion Man,” studied Julian Assange and debates about press freedom, and the WikiLeaks founder began. The film should spark heated debate when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, an archival clip that has never been seen before. It debuted about a year after Assange reached a plea deal and was released from a British prison.

"Strange arrival"
Throw: Colman Domingo, Demi Moore
director: Roger Ross Williams
mechanism: WME, CAA, Rocket Science (International)
Why buyers care about: Oscar-based director Williams, who teamed up with Moore and Domingo, became Academy Award nominees for their work in "Substantive" and "Sing Sing", tells the true story of Betty and Barney Hill, an interracial couple who became the first case of an alien rebellion to be reported in 1961. It is based on Toby Ball's podcast of the same name and has a script by Jane Anderson, most notably adapting "Olive Kitteridge" into an Emmy-winning HBO miniseries.

"Accompanist"
director: Zach Woods
Throw: Susan Sarandon, Everly Carganilla, Aubrey Plaza
mechanism: CAA, Gersh, Mr. Smith (International)
Why buyers care about: Woods, known for her comedy work on “Silicon Valley” and “Office,” made his feature director debut, telling the story of a 9-year-old (Karangira) who is located by an interesting and unpredictable foster parent (Sarandon) who is dealing with the ghost of her past. The unusual premise - dislike some kind of magical realism - and the top actors should attract people's interest.

“Wet afternoon”
Throw: Rachel Weisz
director: Tomas Alfredson
mechanism:uta, caa, film (international)
Why should buyers care about it: Alfredson trains his talents and rotates atmospheric tension with "hide, tailor, soldier, spy." Weisz plays the gorgeous protagonist (Kim Stanley played the same part decades ago, and her efforts were nominated for the Oscar).

"She got it from me"
Throw: Rachel Zegler, Marisa
director: Julia von Heinz
mechanism: CAA, Embankment (International)
Why should buyers care about it:Zegler, the reputation of “West Stories” and “Snow White”, as well as “My Cousin Vinny” and “Spider-Man: No Wayse Go Home” Oscar-winning star Tomei will share the screen in this unconventional family story about a woman’s engagement celebration in search of her engagement celebration in search of her poppeppoplight, popunk popunk Rocker’s mother. It sounds like a heart-warming, potentially funny and feminine, about “flirting with disaster.”

“Photo 51”
Throw: Natalie Portman
director: Tom Hooper
mechanism: CAA, Film (International)
Why buyers care about: Oscar-winning “The King’s Speech” director Hooper will try to regain his foothold after “The Cat” along with the true story of this brilliant scientist, Rosalind Franklin, whose work of X-ray crystallography has allowed Watson and Crick’s legs to straighten through capturing images that reveal the double helix structure of DNA. To Portman, it sounds like a meaty character, and a CGI-Feline-free project that reminds viewers of Hooper’s undeniable talent to tell more rooted stories.

New Wave
Throw: Guillaume Marbeck, Zoey Deutch, Aubry Dullin
director: Richard Linklater
mechanism: Goodfellas
Why buyers care about: The story changes the story of the movie. Linklater is an Indian idol who pulled the curtains back on Jean-Luc Godard, one of the ancestors of the French New Wave, and "breathless." Sounds like a movie lover's catnip. Deutch should burn screens like American movie star Jean Seberg, whose off-screen life (she is a target for J. Edgar Hoover's Cointelpro and a passionate supporter of Black Panther Party) probably should have its own miniseries.

Anxious people
Throw: Angelina Jolie
director: Mark Foster
mechanism: WME, Black Bear (International)
Why buyers care about: Forster recently hit “A man named Otto” in a surprise box office, the story of an investment banker who found himself taking hostages with a reluctant bank robber during an open day. Jolie won her best reviews in her career as Maria Callas in last year’s “Maria”, which reminds viewers of what she lacks after her self-imposed film break.

Painted bride
Throw: Jeremy Allen White, Isabella Rossellini, Mandy Patin
director: Jeremiah Zagar
mechanism: WME, Charades/New Europe (International)
Why buyers care about: White, who will soon be Bruce Springsteen in the biopic From Nowhere, is trying to use his breakthrough role as a pressure chef in "The Bear" to enter the movie star. Freed from the kitchen, "Painted Bride" finds white man playing a new project obsessed with his young son and his dying father. Zagar won the rave for “We Is Animals,” an adult drama that was a 2018 Sundance favorite and also oversees Adam Sandler’s film Hustle.

"closure"
Throw: Robert de Niro, Jenna Ortega
director: David O. Russell
mechanism: CAA, Black Bear (International)
Why buyers care about: Russell's last outing was not going well - that would be the high-profile failure of 2022 "Amsterdam". However, most of the director's previous collaborations with De Niro, such as "Silver Lining Screenplay" and "Joy", were winners. It also helps because of her work on Netflix’s Wednesday, Ortega has built an impressive fan base. Hopefully these two actors can help Russell regain his touch through this pool liar and his prodigy. At least, "close" will be fun.
