Senior MMA fighter Phil Davis leads latest lawsuit with UFC

Senior mixed martial artist Phil Davis filed another antitrust lawsuit against the UFC.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court of Nevada, saying the UFC created an unfair market for fighter jets by limiting other promotions to sign top talent.

The lawsuit was filed by Berger Montague, who recently received $375 million in a settlement lawsuit in a class action lawsuit against the competing UFC from 2010 to 2017. The UFC is currently litigating against a variety of other antitrust cases involving fighter jets at different times.

The latest lawsuit lists Zuffa LLC, which TKO Group holds and strives to be held as defendants, claiming that even fighters that did not have contracts with the UFC, eliminate competition due to UFC’s illegal efforts.

"The lawsuit alleges that the UFC has damaged the ability to become a UFC competitor and attracted the highest level of MMA fighters necessary to compete with the sport's top UFC," the plaintiff's attorney Eric Cramer said in a statement. "We intend to demonstrate that the UFC has participated in the plundering program to undermine UFC competitors, which claims that the program's role is to maintain and enhance the dominance of the UFC, which in turn harms UFC's own combatants, not only to harm UFC's own combatants, but also to compete for MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA competition MMA

Among other objectives, the lawsuit is intended to enable fighters to terminate promotional contracts after one year without fines. Historically, standard contracts include many MMA rounds that are to be performed within unspecified time.

"I am honored to support professional MMA fighters to unlock the UFC's bondage throughout the sport," Davis said in a prepared statement. The UFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Davis, 40, only participated in the UFC in the UFC from 2010 to 2015. He signed with Bellator MMA in 2015 and competed on that banner until this year the Bellator roster was folded to the PFL. PFL purchased Bellator at the end of 2023.
