Scottie Scheffler breaks out in the third round of PGA at Quail Hollow

Professionals often win championships when the shadows are extended on Saturday. It feels like we've witnessed this again.

Quail Hollow's last three holes (green miles) could ruin the desire for the game. Scottie Scheffler decided to play in two under pole position. World No. 1 has produced an outrageous eagle on the 14th, and the next world has birded. Five holes, five holes. If possible, catch him.

Scheffler's 65 and 11 under par total meant that the US PGA champion was suddenly lost. He leads three in Charlotte. Sunlight, such a precious daylight for the Scheffler power players. Almost like what he was going to do. A year ago, his US PGA program was arrested outside Valhalla's gate. This is something more familiar.

History is by Shefleur's side. In the first two times, he won a major lead in 54 holes at Augusta National. What will happen next? None had never won a major before. Neither JT Poston, Kim Si-woo or Jhonattan Vegas. Jon Rahm is six years old, with no hope or motivation. Including, that is, there was no major chance of disrupting his turn to LIV golf. However, the chances of selling Scheffler in this mood are long.

"It's hard to express my hunger for the Major," Ram said. "In this case, anyone is hungry.

“My trip to Liv and the worse game in the Grand Slams has nothing to do with where I play golf. My swing is not at all the level to compete. It’s easier to post scores on non-lawyer tournament classes and venues, and I think when you get to the maximum stage like this, these classes and these classes will run into these flaws and these flaws that get put into the experience.

“There were weeks when I was able to do as well as last year’s Open. The Masters weren’t a good start, but with the week of play I was still working, I was still working and trying to make my swing better.

"I would say that even in 2023, after winning the Masters, it wasn't great until the Ryder Cup. So I think the problem is earlier than people think. But I'm getting close to a comfortable position now. I think so far, this round has shown."

Scheffler pressed the accelerator as Rahm spoke. This is his 25th major competition in the 1960s since 2022. These three consecutive games - 69, 68, 65- will scare the court. However, Schaffler was just one person on the 14th tee. There, he cracked three wood from yards 304 to within 3 feet of the cup. This is this slow burning professional moment.

"I was fighting there, and today was really hard," Schevler said. "The wind was really strong and the green was firmly rooted, but I did a great job of keeping me patient. I hit the ball a lot better than the previous rounds.

"I want to finish the game the right way. I was able to find some motivation there. I needed more golf and I needed to stay right now. I have a lot of really good players chasing me on the rankings."

Rahm's companion Liv man Bryson DeChambeau is back, and that's better, but for a horrible effect. DeChambeau made a three-pointer and found water at the age of 17. When asked about his frustration, he replied: "That's why golf is the worst four-letter word in the world." DeChambeau had a lead at one time. His 69-year-old represents a bad return.

US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley matches DeChambeau's total. There may be a serious conversation about whether Bradley should be doing it or directly at Bethpage later this year.

Rory McIlroy's 72-year-old means he plays in more than two games. The Northern Irishman can already turn his attention to next month’s U.S. Open, when the noise associated with Masters’ Glory will calm down to some extent. Those who made three rounds of progress included Matt Wallace and Adam Scott. Matt Fitzpatrick is in the group below five after 72 points.
