DN.Y. Senator Chuck Schumer avoided his doubts about his role in covering up former President Joe Biden’s mental decline on Tuesday.
Excerpts from CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson's forthcoming "Original Crime: The Fall of President Biden," whose masked and rerunning excerpts detail whether Biden can last for a second president.
Given the book's statement about him, Schumer was asked if he knew Biden's status with CNN's "a arena with Kasie Hunt."

"I'd love to know the guy you saw that day sitting on that sofa - you're there, you're there to see him close and personal - you really don't know he's not suitable for office?" Hunter asked, referring to the February 2024 Oval Office meeting.
"Cassi, we're looking forward to it," Schumer replied. "We have the greatest Medicaid before us. Our federal government is at risk -"
"But, you're facing all of this because you lost the presidential election. Isn't this the responsibility of Joe Biden's decision to run again?" Hunter interrupted.
"We're looking forward to it," Schumer repeated.
"That's it?" Hunter replied.
"That's it." Schumer replied.

Schumer responded the same way at a press conference earlier that day when a reporter asked him if he posted on X in June that the president had “commanded and impressive” at the meeting.
The reporter tied Schumer's post with an insider to describe a "horrible" moment to Tapper and Thompson when Biden failed to recognize award-winning actor George Clooney in the notorious fundraiser.
Schumer dismissed the question, saying: “We are just looking forward to it.”
Fox News Digital contacted Schumer's office for comment.

In February 2024, Schumer defended Biden and insisted that the attack on his abilities was "right-wing propaganda."
"He has a great mental acuity. Very good. It's as good as it's been years. I've been talking to him for 30 years because we've been in the process of my young congressman doing Brady Bill and assault weapons bans, and he's fine.
Later, the New York Times reported that Schumer was one of several Democratic leaders who privately convinced Biden to withdraw from the game.
