Saudi Arabian film Alula has signed a deal with the MBS group that includes the location of the “Avatar” sequel to Manhattan Beach Studios – which will exclusively manage and operate its state-of-the-art Alula Studios.
According to MBS MENA Limited, the newly formed regional unit of Deal MBS Group, “will work closely with the film Alula to develop a strong production pipeline and ensure the studio’s operation smoothly – maximizing occupants, simplifying production planning and managing the rental of local and international projects,” MBS Group Group Group Group and Film Alula said in a joint statement.
The partnership marks the MBS Group's first operating footprint in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which adds to its global network of approximately fifty facilities. In addition to the company's Manhattan Beach Studios of the same name, it also includes Culver Studios from Amazon, Raleigh Studios from Netflix, Radford Studio Center, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Eastbrook Studios London, Vancouver Film Studios, Vancouver Film Studios and Ardmore Studios Ireland.
The film "Elara" is the film committee of northwestern Saudi Arabia, about the size of Belgium, and also includes lush oasis and massive sandstone canyons. Its film production facilities include two large scales, each stage spanning 25,828 square feet, a background and production-supporting building.
The Alula complex also includes a recording studio designed to accommodate 32-piece bands, training and rehearsal spaces, administrative offices and event areas.
The statement highlights the MBS Group's expertise will expand the scope of subsequent development of the film Alula. "Over time, their global experience position integrates Alula Studios into cutting-edge innovations, including future capabilities such as volume phases and next-generation virtual production infrastructure - keeping the facility at the forefront of technological advancements," it said.

The agreement envisions support the core mission of film Alula, aiming to develop a sustainable film ecosystem by creating economic opportunities, engaging and training local workforces.
