The biggest highlight of Samsung's CES press conference last week was probably another press conference. The hardware giant ended the main event by teasing the company's upcoming shows. The next Samsung Unpacked event is scheduled for January 22nd at 10am PT.
As with all recent Unpackeds, next week's big show will be streamed directly via Samsung's website, as well as the company's YouTube channel.
Samsung is excited about getting orders in early, and you can get a $50 Samsung store credit by pre-ordering before the event. You can find all the relevant details here.
Without a doubt, the Galaxy S25 series was the absolute standout of the event. Since interrupting CES/MWC for mobile launches, the company has settled on a twice-yearly cadence of launching flagship products. We launch the Galaxy S series around January/February, followed by new foldable phones in the summer.
The series should include three key models: the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, the latter of which is the S-series that counts the Galaxy Note as its largest and most high-end device. As usual, the build-up to the event has been littered with leaks, hype and cases. The latter gives us a rough idea of the line's dimensions, as they're built to the specifications Samsung submits to manufacturers.
Most rumors point to the S25 looking very similar to its predecessor. The biggest change on the hardware side is a slimmer design. Rumors emerged this week that Samsung will shrink the device's form factor by 1 to 2 millimeters. Another rumor that is almost certain is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that Qualcomm launched in Hawaii last October.
It's usually important to note that there are always some differences in processors on the international market. In the United States, however, this is almost a sure thing.
Of course, Galaxy AI will be central as Samsung not only looks to establish itself as a leader in the category, but also to differentiate its products with the Google Gemini feature available on Android devices. Of course, last year's big AI launch was Circle to Search, a Google feature that first launched on the S24.
Other possible (but less certain) news include a successor to the lukewarm Galaxy Ring wearable, and details on Project Moohan, an extended reality headset being developed in conjunction with Google.
