Russia has launched 44 missiles and more than 400 drones in Ukraine's most significant attacks since Ukrainian raids destroyed thousands of kilometers from the frontline.

"There are ballistic missiles, cruise missiles launched from the air and the ground, as well as attack drones," Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said on state television on Friday.

"About 30 missiles were destroyed and up to 200 drones were shot down," he added.

About four hours later, an air strike strike alarm was issued at 1 a.m., and the attack continued until the morning in western and eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian state emergency services said on Friday morning that three emergency personnel were killed in Kiev while working on the site of one of the strikes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on social media that more than 40 people were injured nationwide.

“We have done a lot with the world to enable Ukraine to defend itself,” he said. “But now is the moment when everyone in the United States, Europe and around the world can stop this war by putting pressure on Russia.”

The attack came five days after a bold Ukrainian operation destroyed at least 12 Russian bombers at four airports. More than 100 drones hidden in the truck hit the air base.

Russian President Vladimir Putin later told U.S. President Donald Trump that Moscow would respond to the Ukrainian raid.

All strikes met targets, including ammunition and drone factories, training locations and maintenance and storage facilities, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the attack was a response to Ukraine's "terrorist attack." Russia has not publicly acknowledged that the damage caused by the Ukrainian attacks has caused at least seven people.

"Everything our military does every day is a response to the actions of the Kiev regime, and the Christian regime adopts all the characteristics of a terrorist regime," Peskov told reporters.

The Russian attack left nearly 40,000 people without electricity, several Iskander ballistic missiles and drones attacked the city of Chenishev, 80 kilometers from the Russian border.

In Kiev, the explosion shocked the city for hours as Ukrainian air defense efforts repelled the attack. Videos on social media show at least one building in the capital sweeping flames.

City officials reported that debris from the drone also damaged a high-rise residential building. "Rescue workers are heading to the scene," Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kiev Military Administration, wrote on social media.
