Laliga Club confirmed that Real Madrid has completed the signing of Bournemouth defender Dean Hueyson.
After joining Juventus and Madrid's Bournemouth, Hueyson enjoyed a great rookie campaign in the Premier League, succumbing to the 20-year-old, agreeing to meet with his £50 million ($60 million) transfer terms so he can play at the club World Cup in June in June.
Bournemouth said in a statement: “The centre-back joined Juventus’ Cherries last summer and he played a role in the club’s record-breaking campaign, Bournemouth said in a statement.
"Everyone at AFC Bournemouth is looking forward to playing the remaining two games of the Premier League season with Dean and then he starts his next career."
Madrid confirmed that Wheesen will join the club club World Cup on June 1.
"Real Madrid CF and AFC Bournemouth have reached an agreement to transfer Dean Huijsen, who will stay with our club for the next five seasons from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2030," Madrid said in a statement.
“At the age of 20, Dean Huijsen was already a Spanish International and played with Juventus and Rome’s Italian Serie A, as well as the Premier League with Bournemouth.
“Dean Huijsen was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Year 2024-2025.”
The Spanish International team made its debut for his country in March, and he was Madrid's first signing before the next season. The Spanish Giants were plagued by defensive injuries in the 2024-25 campaign.
Central defenders Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba all expanded the spell off the field, as well as defenders Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vázquez.
Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "Huijsen is a great, young player with a lot of potential. It's a very good signing. It's exciting, Real Madrid always want to be at the top and they always will be. Last year (signing a defender) wasn't an option, we had Alaba coming back, Militão fit, Carvajal fit, and during the season those injuries affected us."
Sources also told ESPN that Madrid also hopes to secure the arrival of top defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Álvaro Carreras.
Xabi Alonso could also be the manager at the time, and the Spaniards set to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
ESPN reported in March that Madrid had borrowed Huijsen in Rome as a priority before moving to the UK.
Madrid almost signed Huijsen when he was a youth player in Malaga, but his family prefers that he continues to develop in Italy.
Huijsen was born in Amsterdam and has played in the Premier League 29 times this semester and scored 3 times. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are tied to the youngsters, and Madrid then accelerate their pursuits, while Hoyson (which classifies Sergio Ramos as one of his idols) will now be in White.
