Paris Saint-Germain striker Ousmane Dembélé said the potential Ballon d'Or Award was firmly in his mind as he prepared for Saturday's Champions League final against Inter Milan.
The French International team has been a key figure for the Parisians during their finals and is one of the outstanding European players this season, with 30 goals in all competitions, including 24 of the 18 games from December to March.
These performances make Dembélé the leader to win this year's Ballon d'Or.
But the 28-year-old said the chance to win the final personal honor was second, winning PSG's first Champions League title.
"When you're a PSG player, it's important to bring home silverware like Champions League," he said. "I'm focused on the team, not on the individual trophy. It (Ballon d'Or) is in my mind, but I want to focus on the team.
“We have really changed our mindset since January and we want to continue to win and win and we are very excited about the game.
“Inter Milan is a great team and worth reaching the finals. They are physical and know how to defend and how to lead, so we have a strong opponent.
“I’m ready for this final. Since I was a kid, I’ve always dreamed of playing in this game.
"We have to continue to focus on the game, the team, myself. I hope we can do a great job."
This season has seen a major turnaround. At Barcelona, he performed well in his six years at Barcelona, followed by three goals in his 26 Ligue 1 match last season for PSG.
PSG coach Luis Enrique said Friday: "Dembélé has been one of the best players of the season, if not the best. He scored, he passed, fought, defended him, and it was the real mentality - it was a leader."
"A true leader is someone who takes role models as an example. It's great to hear Ottoman and give him confidence to develop his own qualities."
Last summer, Kylian Mbappé left Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, and Dembélé helped fill the remaining gap. Mbappé's exit follows the club's former superstar forward three, Lionel Messi and two other members of Neymar.
With the departure of the trio, the collective focus is more important.
"It's becoming a team, not a group of people," PSG Marquinhos said. "I fell in love with this team. It's a pleasure to be a part of the team."
PSG's success will make them the first European champion in Europe since Bitter Rivals Marseille in 1993, eventually garnering a huge investment from its Qatar Sports investment, which they bought a majority stake in the club in 2011.
The only Champions League final for the French champions was defeated by Bayern Munich in 2020.
