Hundreds were arrested in Paris after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans celebrated the club's victory in the Champions League final.

Officials arrested nearly 300 people after clashes broke out in Champs-elysees Street in New York City and Parc des princes Stadium in PSG, where nearly 50,000 people watched the victory 5-0 over Munich's Inter Milan on the big screen.

The dazzling and fireworks erupted, the bus shelter was smashed, burning cars in the wild celebrations.

Chaos comes after PSG won the biggest award for European club football for the first time in its history.

Most fans celebrated many fans peacefully, many singing and dancing in the streets or blowing the corners of the car.

The Eiffel Tower is illuminated with the blue and red of PSG, and French President Emmanuel Macron, a keen supporter of the Olympic de Marseille, posted on X: "We are all proud of the glorious days of PSG! Bravo."

In Paris, about 5,400 police officers were deployed to celebrate the raucous celebrations.

Paris police said most of the nearly 300 people detained were suspected of possessing fireworks and causing chaos.

"The troublemakers on the championship car want to cause an incident and repeatedly contact the police by throwing large fireworks and other objects," police said in a statement.

The footage shared on social media has not been verified by the BBC, and seems to show the crowd trying to break into several stores on Champs-elysées, including Chanel and lockers.

Riot police reportedly used water cannons to stop crowds from reaching the Triomphe arc and fired tear gas at the crowd.

Other conflicts between police and crowds occurred on the Paris Loop. At least two cars were burned near the parc des princes stadium in PSG.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau wrote on social media: “Real PSG supporters are enjoying the magnificent match of their team.

"At the same time, the barbarians took the streets of Paris to commit crimes and provoked the police."
