Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique faces Inter Milan in the Champions League final on May 31, instead of his former Barcelona club.
However, Luis Enrique admits that if his team is eliminated, he will "love" all the way.
Luis Enrique has improved 3-1 overall after Wednesday's match against Arsenal on Wednesday against Parcs des Princes.
“If we hadn’t been there, I would love that Barcelona had been there and won.”
Luis Enrique is a former Barcelona player who led Barcelona to Champions League glory in 2015.
When Hansi Flick's side fell from two goals to lead 3-2 in San Siro, leading 6-5 in total and 3-2 in total, Barcelona suffered a painful semi-final victory to lead 3-2.
However, Francesco Acerbi's 93rd minute goal took his extra time until Davide Frattersi hit a total of 7-6 to win Mimit's 7-6 victory.
Luis Enrique said when asked about the pain of Barcelona being eliminated: "There is no doubt because if you tell someone that they scored 6 goals in the semifinals, you won't believe it, you don't. They obviously can go to the finals and should go to the finals."
Luis Enrique is now looking to replicate his success on Barça and lead PSG to their first European title at Allianz Arena, PSG's second Champions League final in club history.
PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in 2020.
“It’s an exciting project,” said Luis Enrique, his second season at PSG. “It’s very different from the one I had at Barcelona because in Barcelona I had to get a team that was already doing well to work again. I think we achieved comfortably.
“Here (at PSG), it’s about creating a team that continues to believe that we can turn young players into stars even if the players leave.”
Luis Enrique has built a team of young stars delivering goods since leaving PSG last summer to join Real Madrid's French star Kylian Mbappé as a free agent.
PSG won Ligue 1 last month and can now triple if they beat Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24 and then face Inter in the Champions League final in Munich a week later.
"We have a lot of stars right now, and in that sense, I feel very good and very happy," Luis Enrique said.
