TV producer José Manuel Lorenzo (gardener,,,,, hunting) is a former executive of Spanish TV company RTVE, Publiespaña, Antena3, Sogececcable and Canal+, which will receive honorary awards at the 9th edition of the industry market and network event Connecta Fiction & Entertainment, held in Kuca, Spain from June 16 to 19.

The award recognizes “his extraordinary career in the field of audiovisuality, Lorenzo has been a key figure in the evolution of modern Spanish television, and the enhancement of scripted content as a cultural and export engine.”

The Conecta Award Committee also stressed: “Lorenzo embodies passion and transformation like everyone else, allowing the industry to drive Spain.”

Previous honorees include industry heavyweights such as José Velasco (Spain) and Michele Benzeno (France).

Lorenzo was born in Pontevedra in 1959 and is the president and founder of DLO Producciones, a film and television production company that is part of the Prodecthore Banijay Group. Trained as an industrial engineer, he began his career at the Trillo Nuclear Power Plant before becoming a recreational event. He studied film and theater at TAI and later earned his master's degree in TV Marketing from San Diego State University.

Lorenzo also founded and led Grupo Drive and co-founded the executive president of Boomerang TV. From 2015 to 2018, he served as president of Nor Stop People Channel before becoming CEO of DLO/Magnolia.
