Potential First Emmy Nominee 2025: Harrison Ford, Adam Brody
Nothing like the first time.
With the end of the Emmy’s qualification period, a new class of actors – some from the world, others burst for the first time – is expected to receive the first nomination from the most prestigious award institution on TV.
From the breakthrough transition from "Monster: The Story of Erik and Lyle Menendez" (like "Monster: The Story of Lyle Menendez") to multiple scene heist, supporting characters in the genre of Swordsman, like "Andor" and "Severance", we're all following the top performing contenders to get their first Emmy Nom.
The following is variety Listed 12 hopeful people, hoping to receive invitations to TV's biggest party. Note: We only quote one actor in each series.
The nomination vote will be held from June 12 to June 23, and the official nomination will be announced on July 15.
Respected mentions: Utkarsh Ambudkar ("Ghost"); Wendi McLendon-Covey ("St. Denis Medicine"); Wagner Moura ("Dope Thief"); Chris Perfetti ("Abbott Elementary"); Sarah Sherman ("Saturday Night Live")
Variety Award Tour: Emmy Award
Ike Barinholtz ("Studio")

Barinholtz quietly built one of the most versatile resumes in comedy. This year, he is full of reputation. With Apple TV+'s sharp satirical "The Studio", he caught the attention with his unexpected Zingers and his stand-out resonance. This is a long-standing evolution of an industry figure that can reflect a portion of Tony Shalhoub’s comedian Emmy’s trajectory from “Monk” to “Miss Miser” and even more aptly similar to Tony Hale’s 2013 victory. He also added the boost to co-create Netflix's "running point" with Kate Hudson.
Adam Brody (“No one wants this”)

After winning the Critics Choice Award, Noah Roklov, a rabbit who began to have an unexpected relationship with the agnostic podcaster (Kristen Bell), the constantly challenging Adam Brody looks ready to win his first major TV show on the Netflix Rom-Com show. Many of the Millennial actors have roared in Hollywood's second act. Check out Kenan Thompson when he was nominated for "Kenan" and "Saturday Night Live" in 2021. As the series also competes for other major competitions, even if only five slots are available.
John Cena ("Bear")
Cena has always been a wrestler, “Peacemaker” and daytime Emmy nominee, “Are you smarter than a fifth grader?” Cena’s role in “The Bear” season 3 marks an amazing hub for artists. He is known for the quirks and beats of comedy and action characters, and he attacks the softer side with a guest arc in the hit FX series.
Irving Cooper (“puberty”)

Cooper offered performances that could make Emmy history when he was only 15 years old. In the British drama Adolescence, he plays a troubled teenager with frustration. Comparison with Paul Mescal's intensity of quiet in "the average person" is not without basis. He is a leader in supporting actors (limited) races and is probably just the youngest nominee in the category. His equally influential co-stars Ashley Walter and Christine Tremarco are sure to ignite his side-by-side votes.
Rhenzy Feliz ("Penguin")
Feliz is a magnetic portrayal of dynamic dynamics navigating young criminals in HBO Max's "The Penguin". His performance fell into a subtle effort, evoking the turn of Emmy nominations, like Michael Mando's Better Call Thor and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in The Watchmen. If nominated, Felize will become the eighth Latino actor recognized in the auxiliary drama actor category, especially not yet arousing a winner. He will also be just a Dominican actor nominated in any Emmy Awards Performance category, following Jharrel Jerome's historic lead actor (limited) in 2019. His potential nod will be the first Dominican to win an Academy Award for his performance in "Emilia Pérez" that same year.
Harrison Ford ("contraction")
No single Emmy nominated performance legend? Yes. Ford's turn is Dr. Paul Rhoades, a sad, rough therapist, to blend dry humor with emotional vulnerability. After the overlooked first season and solid matches in Paramount’s “1923,” Ford seemed to have expired in recognition of Emmy, perhaps the same nod to Alan Arkin’s “Kominsky Method” or when Henry Winkler finally won the overdue Emmy for “Barry” season 1. Ford's NOM could also bring his co-star and critics-choose champion Michael Urie.
Cooper Koch ("Monster: The Story of Erik and Lyle Menendez")
Koch showed an unforgettable performance in the dramatic Netflix by producer Ryan Murphy. His portrayal balances the bondage of basic and emotional with deep psychological complexity, echoing the moments of breakthrough seen by Evan Peters in his Emmy-nominated performance “Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer”. With renewed interest in the Menendez case, Koch's perception could include him directly into the lead actor (limited) race. Without another brother, this story would not have existed. Depending on how the category swings, only five slots are easy to get, and it may be hard to see both advance.
Katherine Lanasa ("Pitt")
Lanasa directs the screen as head of the Pittsburgh Emergency Room in the intense medical drama Pitt. Her presence is meaningless, partly human, and she recalls the Emmys’ breakthrough Emmys won an actress like Archie Panjabi in “The Good Wife” and “Breaking Bad” in Anna Gunn. Her nod will mark a milestone that defines a career. For any of her co-stars, Tracy If, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez, it could be said that is the same.
Britt Lower ("Severe")
Although the series received 14 nominations in 2022, Lower's mysterious and emotionally layered performance, as Helly has been overlooked. In Season 2, she returns with greater precision and emotional emphasis. Her arc has earned long-term recognition in range, perhaps similar to Rhea Seehorn's final support for NOM in the final two seasons after years of fan and critic campaigning. One of the leading actresses nodded almost certainly. Don't forget that her co-star Zach Cherry is Dylan and Tramell Tillman of Crack of Intelligence, as human vocabulary Milchik is both competing for the dramatic actor considerations and will likely be in the series.
Isabela Merced ("Our Last")

Merced enters season 2 of the Apocalypse Drama, a quiet but dramatic performance as a new survivor. She follows Bella Ramsey’s 2023 nomination (she is the youngest lead actress nomination ever), and may just be the fourth Latino actress nominated in the auxiliary drama actress category, joining Aubrey Plaza ("White Lotus" ("White Lotus"), Morena Baccarin ("Homeland") and Alexis Bledel ("Handeal Bledel)" ("Handeal Bledel)" ("Handeal Bledel)" ("Handeal Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel)" ("Hande Bledel") and more.
Sam Nivora ("White Lotus")

Mike White’s Emmy Powerhouse kicks off several awards for prominent actors and new immigrants, from winners Murray Bartlett to Jennifer Coolidge to nominees Will Sharpe and Natasha Rothwell. Now, Sam Nivola, 21, adds new energy and depth to the ensemble and is ready to dive into the competition in his unforgettable turn as young Lochlan is a high school student living in a Thai resort. If the great character actor's sons Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer advance, he would be the second youngest, surpassing Noah Wyle, 24, who was nominated for "ER" in 1995, beat "ER" only in 1959 by 13-year-old Johnny Crawford, and won "Rifleman" in 1959.
Hilary Swank ("Yellowjackets")
Image source: Kailey Schwerman/Paramount+ and Showtime
Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (“Boy Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby”) gets trapped in a twisted “Yellowjackets” mental depth in a chilly and brainy guest arc. Swank made his debut in the March 28 episode - Part 8 of the show's Season 3 - a jaw-dropping twist that finally reveals Melissa's long-term fate. In this episode, adult Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) discovers that Melissa is not only alive, but also lives under a new identity, and the family does not know about their own trauma. Her competition as a guest drama actress will travel through prestige TV along a shabby movie star. In "Morning Show" or Patricia Arquette, see Marcia Gay Harden.
