For four years, former Playboy’s Playmates – and Twins – Karissa and Kristina Shannon are considered to live a luxurious and charming life with their boyfriends in the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner. But behind closed doors, Florida natives are struggling to survive the traumatic experiences ignited by jealousy and betrayal.

The twins, now 35, were first discovered when they were 16 years old. Two years later, they moved into the mansion with Hefner and his already established girlfriend, The Girls Next Door stars Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson.

“We are teenagers,” Karisa added.

"So, like we feel our comfort zone. We don't have fake boobs, we don't have fake teeth, we don't have wigs." "We're not natural, we just want to achieve that and discovering that we're going to be playmates is the biggest deal for us. Then discovering that we can play shows bigger."

After entering the mansion, the girl immediately felt that other women were "very bullied".

Holly Madison recalls "insecurity" by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner: "He has jealous stripes"

"These girls are so mean, we don't know what to do," Christina said.

When a STD outbreak passes, the luxurious life they once fantasized quickly becomes a nightmare.

"Hugh Hefner didn't use condoms," Christina said. "Once everyone caught chlamydia, we were like, 'No, we were only 18. We were 18, we caught chlamydia."

Karisa added: "We were yelling and crying. We were angry."

“And they’re a hippie mindset… They’re like, ‘Oh, that’s normal sexual behavior.’ They say, “When you’re sexually active, that’s it. "We're like, no, we're 18, 19. Just because your sexual activity isn't meeting with it, you're capturing sexually transmitted diseases, then we're not happy with it."

"From what Huff said, when we all catch Chlamydia, when you are sexually active, that's what happens," Christina said. "That's what he said. So you can't follow what he says. You can't believe him. So you have to be careful of yourself."

Kristina claims Hefner will have sex with “any walk.”

“Hef, he will definitely have sex with anything walking, anything walking. If he finds it looks a little good, he will definitely hang up…so, like we have to deal with it.

Karisa added: “It’s embarrassing.”

Lack of protection, Karisa found herself pregnant at the age of 20.

"I don't want Huff to know because the first thing I think of is that he wants to keep it," Karisa said. "I don't want (anyone) to know because I don't think I want to be pregnant. I don't want to deal with it."

Karissa ended up having an abortion, which was a "big and emotional" decision, she said.

Holly Madison became "come" when he lived in the "cultural" Playboy Mansion: "You are not allowed to leave'

"The Juicy J from the Three Mafia was our only friend, and his father was a pastor," Karisa recalled.

Christina added: “He took us to have an abortion.”

After the operation, the girl had to shoot a promotion for the “Girl Next Door”.

"My stomach was so swollen," Karisa recalled. "I wasn't ready to talk about it. I was scared that HEF would find out he wanted it. And I didn't know what it was, I didn't know what to do... I was scared. I just didn't want anyone to know. I was embarrassed and I felt sick."

She added: “I’m confused and dealing with so many things, and it really connects me with my sister, which is why we’ve gone through everything we’ve gone through and I’m so glad I’ve gotten out of it.”

By the time they were 22, the girls had enough and were ready to leave Hefner and the mansion.

"(living in the Playboy mansion) is very scary for us. It's really because we lose our identity."

- Kristina Shannon

"We went through a few years when we moved out," Karissa recently told People magazine. "I feel like every set of twins has gone through it, especially in your 20s. We both got stuck in different things and tried to be individuals because HEF really did put twins on us, very close than anyone else. But we've been very close. I believe our twins are closer than most twins."

"Everyone said we were going through the 'Anna Nicole stage'," Kristina told the media. "We gained weight. There were alcohol and pills there. We were really unhealthy, lost, even at some point, we had no one. We didn't have anyone. It was just us trying to figure it out after we lost ourselves."

The twins told Fox News Digital that Hefner did strip them of their identities in many ways.

"It's very scary for us. It's really because we've lost our identity," Christina said.

Now, women living in Michigan now focus on the future and take care of their mental, mental and physical health.

"We meditate every day, we are trying to eat, not eating out, and really self-care, just taking time for ourselves, learning how to be selfish, learning how to refuse," Karisa said.

Christina added: "In our hearts, we've gone through our recovery era, which took years. I don't think we're going to stand out from it. But Michigan has changed us. We like to be in Michigan and then go to work in Los Angeles or Vegas."

As for their next professional move, the twins are looking for a creative outlet, whether it’s a talk show or a podcast.

"Somewhat honest and authentic," Christina said. "We won't back down."
