Cade Cunningham will soon find out if he will be his first all-NBA team. Whether he will indeed have an impact on the offseason for the Detroit Pistons and its future salary cap.

The rising superstar scored the all-NBA roster for the first time after the breakout season, averaging 26.1 points, 9.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds, with the 44-win Pistons falling into six games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. He will raise a big salary next season, the first of his five-year, $224 million high contract extension signed in 2024. But if he gets the all-NBA, that number will be even more intense when announced in the conference finals.

His four-year, $45.6 million rookie contract is the No. 1 pick in 2021, with his designated rookie extension starting at the 2025-26 season. Cunningham was the first Pistons draft picks to sign Max rookie extensions with the team since Andre Drummond signed five years and $127 million in 2016.
