⚾️ 10 Continuous: The twins doubled the Orioles, extending their winning streak to 10 games, the longest game of any team this season.
⚽️ Still no victory: La Galaxy wasted two goals in the lead against Philadelphia, continuing the worst start of the defending champion (0-10-3) in their tenth defeat.

PGA Champion It's the strangest of the four majors in golf. But, if you look closely, you will find that it has given us nothing but explosions except for this decade.

Jay Busbee from Yahoo Sports:
Yes, the three best big games in the first half of the decade were Rory McIlroy’s Masters title this year, Bryson DeChambeau’s U.S. Open victory at Pinehurst last year, and Cam Smith’s 2022 Open Championship win.
However, these three games also brought some less-scoring titles - four-shot wins (Jon Ram, Masters 2023; Scotty Schefler, Masters 2024), five-shots (Dustin Johnson, Masters 2020) and six-shot strokes (Dechambeau, Dechambeau, 2020, Brian Harman, 20233 open), such as open in 2023).
Meanwhile, in the PGA Championship: The decision to five games in this decade is no more than two strokes, including Lefty’s historic victory, a seven-shot Sunday Recback and the first big champions of two current top five players.

2020 (Harding Park): This is the first major after the co-lockdown, so someone can win at 50 and we are still grateful. But the entire field competed, and in his first PGA championship game, Collin Morikawa won the 16th Grand Eagle.
2021 (Kiawah Island): If Phil Mickelson failed to detonate the Pro Golf victory, we would remember it was the modern 1986 Jack-Nicklaus. Still, winning at 50 is the oldest major champion ever.
2022 (Nanshan): Justin Thomas scored a final 67 in the playoffs to eliminate a seven-point lead and beat Will Zalatoris, matching the biggest comeback in tournament history, one of the most tense key results of the 2020s.
2023 (Oak Hill): Brooks Koepka's fifth major made him the sixth golfer to win at least three PGA titles, from a knee injury that looked like a career-breaking rebound to become the first active Liv golfer to win professionally.
2024 (Valhalla): Xander Schauffele's 72nd hole birdie gave him a stroke to beat Bryson DeChambeau and his first major champion. Oh, yes.
Come: Today at the 107th edition of Quail Hollow in Charlotte, Scheffler and McIlroy won four championships here - a shared favorite (at Betmgm's -500).

Jayson Tatum's rupture of fatal weakness, Untimely and unexpected, may be nothing more than a symptom of the game, making the player feel like a physical boundary that has never been seen before.

Tom Haberstroh from Yahoo Sports:
In Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, Klay Thompson dunked and returned.
Thompson's left knee bent down beneath the edge of the Raptor. In the blink of an eye, Thompson's career and the Warriors' process changed forever. Thompson's ACL was torn apart, as did his position as the Warriors.
Thompson was once the Warriors’ Fire Metronome, a five-time All-Star with tough resilience that rarely matches. He never suffered any serious injury or anything serious to eliminate him, except for a few games. Then, he was seriously injured. Another, when his Achilles broke down during his recovery.

That's what I thought when Jayson Tatum fell on the court in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday night. How sudden and unexpected it was. How strange. This is not a star who is easily injured, far from it. From a health standpoint, Tatum is the version of Celtic Klay Thompson, always when needed.
Another ominous line connects the two stars: Thompson was the last player to play as many games as Tatum in the first eight seasons of the league. At the end of his eighth season, Thompson collapsed. Like Tatum, Thompson is the Iron Man of his team. It wasn't until he was instantly.
This is the new NBA. Whether you're a vulnerable person or Iron Man, this is a game that expands geometrically and becomes more physically costing the brightest stars. No matter how clean the player's track record is, the growing grinding of the NBA seems to be no one.

Bottom line: The stars of the age of speed and space are hurt more than ever. Is today's game itself weird?
