Manchester City head coach Guardiola said on Monday that he "absolutely" his side can block one of the Premier League's top five, which will ensure their Champions League football next season.

While the Premier League champion has been long-standing packaged by Liverpool, Arsenal secured its top five in Sunday's match, but ensured the matches at the other three remaining venues were open.

Newcastle United, Chelsea and Aston Villa all scored 66 points after 37 games, while Manchester City ranked sixth with 65 points and won a game at three clubs.

Manchester City's last time failed to compete in the European elite club competition was in the 2009-10 season.

"If we are not in (Champions League) (Champions League), we don't deserve it and will go to the Europa League," Guardiola told reporters before Tuesday's home game against Bournemouth.

"I think we'll be eligible. My thoughts and my thoughts - I think. We need four points. That's the main goal. I'm absolutely (with confidence in the qualifying round)."

Manchester City hopes to resume against Crystal Palace from Saturday's 1-0 Batting Cup final.

"We played a really good final and it wasn't enough to win the game. We have the last two games and we need to play in the Champions League four points next year. That's enough, and everyone has to be aware of that."

Espanyol added: "Newcastle won the Calabar Cup, Liverpool won the Premier League, Manchester City won the Community Shield. Other teams won no wins."

Manchester City's match against Bournemouth will be the last game of the season, with the club heading to 10th Fulham in Sunday's final Premier League match.

The match against Bournemouth will also mark the final home game of Belgium’s organizer Kevin de Bruyne, who announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season after 10 years of success.

"We want to win the game so we can qualify for the Champions League next season - that's what Kevin wants, it's impossible."

"I'm going to decide what our best game is, for sure. Kevin will get what he deserves, and what he deserves is the best moment and the best compliment for his incredible trajectory."
