Emmy winners "Baby Reindeer", "Ripley" and "Shogun" can now add Peabody to their huge award rack. These three projects are one of the 34 winners selected by the Peabody Awards jury to win awards in entertainment, documentary, news, podcast/broadcasting, arts, children and youth, immersive and interactive media, and public service programs.
According to Peabody, the 34 winners are the choice of 68 nominees, initially listed from 1,000 entries in all categories. The final winner was voted by 27 jurors unanimously.
Netflix won six total Peabody, at most any export, followed by HBO/MAX (IV), PBS (IV), FX/Hulu and Al Jazeera, both of which are two.
“The winners of the 85th Peabody Awards include a wide range of contemporary and historical issues including the Gaza War, rural health care, a focus on disability, authoritarianism and sexual violence,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody. “Whether it’s inspiring audiences on global issues or bringing a smile and a sense of community through thoughtful entertainment, these works deserve recognition and celebration.”
The 85th Peabody Award winner will be recognized at a ceremony hosted by the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on June 1. Will be generated; type Be a media partner.
As previously announced, NBC News' chief Washington and chief external transit correspondent Andrea Mitchell was invited to receive this year's Peabody's Career Achievement Award, while the long-running NBC late-night sketch comedy series "Saturday Night Live" will receive Peabody's Institutional Award.
