Pat Cummins and Cameron Green

The Australian look will face major selection dilemma in the World Exam Championship final at Lord's with Captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood and Cameron Green.

Cummins’ team will defend their Test Championship against South Africa starting June 11 and welcome their captain after missing out on Sri Lanka’s tour earlier this year and after the birth of his second child.

Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood also strengthened the seam options in the team, and the couple may be against Mitchell Starc against Proteas, but the availability of green has brought a more interesting issue after long layoffs in the longer back issues.

The 25-year-old has not competed in Australia since undergoing surgery in September but is still unable to bowl despite taking action with the Gloucestershire County Champion a hundred times.

His unavailability of the bowl could mean that Beau Webster was retained in XI after his debut in the home series against India, which made Green the possibility of being an expert batsman.

But Australia's highest stage already has an imminent logjam: Travis Head opens as a contest in Sri Lanka, but should slide down to No. 5, while youngster Sam Konstas recompets after the striking international bow and arrow in the border-Gavaska trophy.

Josh Inglis made his debut test tons in Sri Lanka and provided cover for Alex Carey, while the regular No. 3 Marnus Labuschagne could team up Usman Khawaja at the top of the order or find himself out of the way.

"We are lucky and look forward to bringing Pat, Josh and Cam back to the team," said Chief Selector George Bailey.

“In the summer of the first time in a decade, the team’s victory in Sri Lanka was impressive in Sri Lanka.

“These series have been consistent throughout the two-year cycle and now offer us an exciting opportunity to defend the WTC.

“It’s a big deal for the organization to reach the finals and they are very much looking forward to the challenge South Africa will be in Lord.”

Australia beat India in its final exam championship in 2023. They will be a favorite to beat South Africa’s revival, and he will have Kagiso Rabada available after the fast bowler completes a one-month suspension after a positive drug test.

The same 15-man team also includes seam racer Scott Boland and left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann, who will head to the Caribbean after the race, with Australia going to play the West Indies in three tests on June 25.
