Palestinian flag flies over New England Capital City Hall

Rhode Island Providence accepted Friday’s request to fly the Palestinian flag at the state’s capital city hall.

City officials stressed that the exhibition did not displace the U.S. flag, adding that several other flags have been held in government offices in the past.

A Providence City Council spokesman told Fox News Digital Thestreing that Providence City Hall displays many different flags throughout the year to commemorate different occasions and respect the many ethnic and cultural backgrounds and traditions that make our city strong. ”

The spokesman added that in recent months, the city has also flirted the Dominican flag, the Irish flag, the Armenian flag and the Israeli flag.

"Like these examples, this idea comes to us from the community, which is part of the goal of respecting Palestinian Americans to play an important role in the structure of our diverse cities," the spokesperson said.

Council President Rachel Miller will show the flags at a city council meeting on Thursday and outside the city hall on Friday.

When asked about the decision, the Democratic Mayor Brett Smiley's representative proposal ceremony was a privilege for the city council.

Fetterman spokesman reportedly contradicted Israeli boss: "Unparalleled arrogance"

"In Providence, the executive branch and the city council are two separate branches of the government. Providence City Council, not the office of the mayor of Smiley, will lift the Palestinian flag on Friday," said Smiley's spokesman Josh Estrella.

A report from Golocalprovidence added that the Palestinian flag was reportedly becoming increasingly common in the city hall.

Normally, indoor rooms are only pending, the report says.
