Ketch Secor, the head of the Old Crow Medical Show, strolls along one of the most distant streets in Nashville - I know, I lived there for 10 years - in his debut solo song "Dickerson Road." The Jaren Johnston's Skronk-Blues guitar of Cadillac Three is a fiercely evoking the tough, hustle and dangerous atmosphere of Dickerson Pike, the atmosphere of cars, tire shops and muddy motels.
"Who is knocking on the screen door/rattles, bar/he has a shoe/gas will stick to his arms," Seidor rapped in the opening poem. Later, he nodded, about the long history of Parker, the front pass between Louisville, Kentucky and Nashville, where country stars spent the night in Music City and James Brown and James Brown, with James Brown Jimmy.”
"Dixon Road" also announced Secor's album, The story the crow told me. It's July 11, and it's the debut of the charismatic singer, musician, Ratonteur and activist Solo LP. Musically, the song evokes a mix of bluegrass from artists like Gangstagrass and even Elvie Shane, with Secor and Johnston, who once worked with Cadillac for three songs, “Hillbilly.” But for the young ears, Secor's solo might think of the "Dirty Road National Anthem," a rural speaking for the NBC in 2011. Compared to that song "Dickerson Road" bristles, it has the same energy as its eponymous.
“The big ole opry has stars, the Hall of Fame has patches, and in 2000, Nashville castoffs, rejections, n'er do-wells, trivia, dwarfs, losers and users have a major destination; I used to be a bottle of wine I used to be on Dickson Road, like my bottle, sec sec see sepor of secore, “Now, you can only glimpse the inappropriate glory of the boulevard that once fell into broken dreams, but for a while I would see some stray dogs licking on some grease traps and knowing they are still piled on the top of the trash on the dick. ”
The story the crow told mearriving at equal housing records through Firebird Music, present past and present members such as Critter Fuqua and Willie Watson, with guests Molly Tuttle and Marty Stuart and Old Crow Medicine. Secor produced LP with Jody Stevens and recorded the record at Hartland Studios near Dickerson Pike.
