Ohio State player, TikTok star fired ahead of national championship game against Notre Dame

Ohio State looks dominant in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.

After knocking off the top-seeded Oregon Ducks in the quarterfinals, the Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals to advance to Monday's championship game. But one member of the Buckeyes, who rose to fame largely due to his social media presence, will not be traveling to Atlanta for the national championship game.

Ohio State sports information director Jerry Emig confirmed to the Lantern that former walk-on player Kaden Davis has been fired from the team.

At times, Davis' online content will provide followers with behind-the-scenes content about the Ohio State football team and athletic facilities. He also documented his student life at the Columbus, Ohio, campus.

As of Wednesday, at least one of Davis' social media bios read "Ohio State Football #61," while other accounts mentioned the football program.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Davis hinted that he would be traveling to the Dallas area with the Buckeyes for their Cotton Bowl semifinal matchup with Texas. It was later determined that the photo Davis shared was from last season's Cotton Bowl. Missouri beat Ohio State in that game.
