Oh, OHTANI! Dodgers star hits 3 home runs in late rally in 14-11 victory over the Rattlers

Phoenix (AP) - Dave Roberts played with Barry Bonds and watched the seven-time National League MVP at the peak of his strength.

The Los Angeles Dodgers manager saw only one player compared to Bonds: shohei ohtani.

Ohtani added his ever-growing legend Friday night, blowing up three home runs in the Dodgers’ impossible 14-11 comeback against the Arizona Diamondbacks, earning his ninth in the sixth inning inning.

"Between him and Barry Bondes, these are the two best players I've ever seen," Roberts said. "I've played with Barry, but what Sho does in the clutch, I've never seen anything like he does in the clutch."

The Dodgers and the Diamondbacks played one of the craziest games of the season in the desert, taking together 25 runs, 26 hits, and two blasts with at least three runs and six home runs.

It all comes down to Ohtani.

The Japanese star has shown a knack for a big moment in his eight-year career, starting with the Los Angeles Angels, who have been with the Crosstown Dodgers for the past two seasons.

One of the two players who won the MVP in both leagues - twice in the AL, once NL, Ohtani got the game in ninth place after a three-game winning streak after the Dodgers had a three-pointer. Ryan Thompson entered the game, first and second.

Thompson led Ohtani 1-2 but left a breaking ball in the inside corner. Ohtani quickly opened it and thrust it deep into the seat in his twelfth season. He threw the bats to go with Lourdes Gurriel Jr of Arizona.

“It’s a really great game,” Ohtani said through an interpreter. “It’s not that we play a lot of games, but for us, it’s very exciting to have them come back and let us come back again.”

Ohtani unveiled a crazy night in the desert, with 423 feet of doubles on the midfield walls, which is a 107.9 mph shooting that will appear on most courses.

This isn't even the hardest blow in the first game. Arizona's Ketel Marte hit the first of his two solo home runs - exit speed 113.1 - Eugenio Suárez followed with two shots.

The Dodgers then hit the baseball.

Kiké Hernández hit the lead home run in the second inning, Ohtani added a scoring double, and Los Angeles rose 8-3 with a five-fifth shooting percentage.

After that, the Dodgers' Bats became quiet - not hit in the next four innings - the Rattlers were still alive.

Gurriel hit his seventh pro major in the fifth inning, with Arizona leading 9-8 on the base’s walk. The Rattlers kept hitting, with Marte's continuous solo home runs and eighth-place batsman Randal Grichuk rising 11-8.

It seems to be in control, and Arizona sent Kevin Ginkel to the ninth place.

Poor progress.

Freddie Freeman opened the singles on the left side of the move. Andy had three RBI's Andy Pages followed by scoring doubles, with Hernandez matching him, and Max Munchy hit a RBI single to equalize it.

Kinker was eliminated after hitting Michael Conforto with the court, and Thompson faced Ohtani for two games.

Ohtani then did what he did best.

"Whenever you see Sho in these locations, you expect it to be incredible," Monsi said. "He rarely disappoints, and there is no difference."
