After entering the exciting start of the high school baseball playoffs, it’s time to review your best performance.

Get to know the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey player of the week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Casey Baratta, Wayne Hills

Baratta led the Patriots (17-10) to two wins in North Group 1. The senior hit a hit with a walk and 10 strikeouts in the quarterfinals of the 4-0 defeat to Paramus. In two games, including a 6-4 win over Randolph, he 2-5, two runs and two RBIs.

Jack Birrer, Mount India

Birrer brought the Braves (13-10) to two North 1s, with a partial victory in Group 1. The sophomore beat Waldwick 3-2 and threw five shots, no runs allowed, five hits, three walks, and six hits. He scored three times in a singles and three RBIs in a 5-2 win over Kittatinny.

Alex D'Angelo, Richwood

D'Angelo scored Maroons (20-7) with two wins in North 1, Group 4 division and 10 wins. The junior scored two-thirds of the hit in a 3-2 win over Passaic. He won singles, walking scores and three RBIs in the quarterfinals that beat Belleville 10-0.

Max Garcia, Tappan

Garcia guided the Golden Knights (18-7) to two wins in North Group 1. The junior had three singles in four batsmen and scored twice with a 7-1 first round defeat to Teaneck. He scored doubles in four batsmen, earning two RBIs in the quarterfinals against Natley 6-0.

Brendan Gaskin, Pascalk Valley

Gaskin led the Panthers (21-6) for 3-0 weeks, winning two wins in North Group 1 and 2. The junior threw a 5 2/3 closed innings, allowed six hits, a walk, and beat River Dell in the first round 3-2 to beat 7 innings. In three games, his three-pointers were three games, with 2 runs and three RBIs.

Ryan Hawken, Mahwah

Hocken drove the T-Bird (17-9) to two wins in the North Group 1. The sophomore game was 2-3, home runs and triple, two runs and six RBIs, defeating Demarest 14-4. He scored 3-2, with one running and two RBIs defeating Westwood 6-5.

Aiden Oggado, Depaul

Ogando led the Spartans (19-6) to 2-0 weeks, beating St. Peter's Basilica 9-2 in the Northern Non-Public A Division quarterfinals. The junior year's 7-4, which included a home run, had 3 runs and five RBIs. He threw two innings 10-0 against Montclair Kimberley.

Braiden Russell of Midland Park

Russell lowered the Panthers (18-8-1) to 3-0 weeks, winning two wins in North Group 1. The junior threw a 6 1/3 of the closed innings, allowing three hits, three walks, and defeated Butler 3-0 in the first round to nine games. In three games, he had 6-6, with 2 runs and two RBIs.

Jack Spitaleri, Glen Rock

Spitaleri drove the Panthers (22-5) to 3-0 weeks, which included two wins in North Group 1 and 2, which extended their winning streak to nine games. The freshman beat Ramsey in the 9-4 quarterfinals with 10 points and three shots and three RBI boxes for six, including three hits and two RBIs.
