The New York Giants may have switched their hopes for a future franchise quarterback last week, but don't expect him to step on the court frequently.
G-Men won Ole Miss's own Jaxson Dart in the NFL Draft, joining him in a crowded room that already features Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
Winston was the first to sign with the Giants this offseason, struck a two-year contract, and Wilson completed a one-year deal about a week later.

Wilson considers the leader in the start of Week 1: “That’s what we start here in the spring,” head coach Brian Daboll said through a professional football speech.
So, with two veterinarians already in the room, it looks like Dart's rookie season will be the de facto redshirt sport.
"Jaxson is going to come in, he has to learn offense, and there is a lot to learn. These NFL offenses are hard to master and pick up and then be able to go out and execute, so his ability to learn and sit behind two full professionals will be in his favor," said Joe Schoen, general manager of the Giants. ”

Darts have averaged 329.2 yards per game over the past season, ranking third in the NCAA. He scored a total of 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, which gave the Rebels a 10-3 overall record and fourth place in the SEC.
He turned out to be a legitimate running threat with 495 yards and 3 sprint touchdowns.
At the age of 21, he will be the youngest QB in the NFL in the 2025 season.
During the NFL Combined Harvesters’ passing drill, Dart scored 18 of 23 points, and if some of his wide receivers were dropped, that would get more completion. He demonstrated the strength and precision of his arms on various passes, proving that he could make all throws in the NFL.
