The former Pittsburgh Steelers ran back to Merril Hoge, his criticism of Shedeur Sanders and his predictions about the future of former Colorado quarterback NFL.

Sanders is expected to be selected as No. 2 overall in the NFL draft, but his epic drop to the fifth round became the topic of the game. Cleveland Browns finally decided to pick him even before quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Hoge's interview with Pittsburgh WDVE before the draft began his point of view on Sanders.

"I think the best way to sum it up is that he's a really good college quarterback," Hogg explained. "He has great accuracy and he handles it very well. When I say good, I use a ratio from 1 to 10, so good five. So if you're five at college, then (accuracy and process) are the two most important aspects of the transition to the NFL, and then it starts from there and you can build it."

Furthermore, Hogg's alleged number of Sanders is exaggerated. The Buffaloes star's percentage of completion was 71.8%, but Hoge rejected that as Sanders threw a lot of bubble screens.

He doesn't believe that using these types of dramas will translate in the NFL. He said the team will look for the skills of people that Joe Burrow, CJ Stroud and Jayden Daniels have.

"He's not even approaching, he's not even on the court. ... I like that he has some resilience, but how he's acting, he won't be afraid of anyone," Hogg added, adding that the team should be wary of Sanders' expectations of being able to handle the first-round draft pick.

“He can’t handle his expectations,” he added. “He will be an epic failure and he will return your organization for another two or three years.”

Once he falls to the fifth round, these expectations will be lightened a little. However, Sanders can win a starting job at the camp because once the season begins, Kenny Pickett or Joe Flacco will be the QB1.

Gabriel is the all-time leader in touchdown passes at the FBS level, but even he was selected for late.
