Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs will play at least eight independent games in the upcoming NFL season.

Their Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles will not be one of them.

The teams will meet in Week 2 of Kansas City in the afternoon game at Fox, one of many Marquee games announced Wednesday night as the NFL unveiled its 272-game schedule for 2025.

Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and the Eagles took over the Chiefs' rule 40-22, capturing the second Vince Lombardy Trophy in February. Philadelphia is winning seven independent games.

Among the week 1 highlights announced Wednesday night:

•Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills will visit Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Allen won Jackson's NFL MVP award last season, and Jackson is the first-team global quarterback for the Associated Press. The two teams also met in January in the AFC divisional round, with Buffalo winning.

It will be Buffalo's first season to open a home game since 2000.

•If free agent Aaron Rodgers eventually signs with Pittsburgh, he will no longer wait for free agents to face his former team. The Steelers will visit the New York Jets, which now owns former Pittsburgh quarterback Justin Fields.

•Pete Carroll returns to the sideline, this time the Raiders coach will be held in his former New England, with Las Vegas taking over as new coach Mike Mike Vrabel and Patriots Drake Maye.

•Star two-way rookie Travis Hunter will debut in the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Carolina Panthers.

•On September 7, the No. 1 pick CAM WARD can make its NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans against Bo Nix and the Broncos.

The NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Commanders will be held in Washington on December 20. Two weeks later, the team met again after Week 18.
