Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea

Newcastle scored goals in every half, beating top five opponent Chelsea, who Nicolas Jackson hit the game 2-0 in Champions League football.

Before the kickoff, 63 points were locked at the Premier League table, a match called the season-defined fixture between the sides that could close the gap for second-place Arsenal.

But the opening half was totally mismatched, and in the first 110 seconds, Sandro Tonali scored a ghost on the back post after Romeo Lavia was robbed in half his depth.

If Newcastle aims to create some separation between itself and the competitive packaging, they achieve, increasing their hopes for Champions League qualification while sending a hammer blow to Chelsea, which attempts to evoke a response in the second phase but competes less with the players.

Jackson drew a live red card when the field referee upgraded his initial release of yellow red after sending John Brooks to the monitor in the 35th minute. Chelsea investigated the tests of Nick Pope and Reece James of Malo Gusto's cross. But this day belongs to Newcastle.

Bruno Guimaraes once again broke Chelsea’s resistance after making up for Eddie Howe’s victory, and they now amass as many points as champion Liverpool (46) in the first 21 games and ranked in the top four in the first five games and third in the rankings.

Maresca suggests Jackson Red is affected by crowd noise

Chelsea Head coach Enzo Maresca explain:

“There is no doubt that the red card has affected the game. In this stadium against this team, it’s already complicated and even if you give them an extra player, it’s even more difficult.

"But overall, especially in the second half, we have three big chances. It's not easy to have 10 players. And, as far as red cards are concerned, I think if the referee decides a red card, it's a red card.

“The only thing is that in some different stadiums, sometimes it’s more about whether to foul or not.

"And then with Nico (Jackson), I didn't (talk to him), it wasn't that moment. Probably the next day we're going to talk to Nico."

Hao: Send changed the game

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe explain:

"We're so happy. The dispatch changed the game. With the score, it was a tricky second half for us because we wanted to go offense and that's the message.

“But on the court, I think it feels different, Chelsea has changed, it has changed things and it has made it difficult for us to tactically.

"I'm happy with our defense. Nick (the Pope) made two grand savings for us. You can't forget that, and the role he played in the victory today. But we've crossed the game, which is the main thing in a game like today.

On Jackson's red card: "I'm sure he wasn't going to elbow the way he did, but it didn't look right in the end."

Bourne acknowledges nerve-affected Newcastle

Newcastle Defender And burn Speech TNT:

"We know how important today. We said before the game that the Cup final was our biggest game of the season, but it was the second one. It wasn't very beautiful, but we got the job done, so it didn't matter.

“Sometimes it’s hard when the opposition team goes down to 10 because you feel like you should be dominant and we don’t want them to come back. But the crowd is a little nervous and I think we are a little nervous too.

“We have now gained experience in the team in big games and I think we’re really happy to see the game.”
