New audio reveals Biden memory errors after attack HUR report discovery

Former President K slammed Special Adviser Robert Hur in a report, calling long-time lawmakers “sympathy, goodwill, elderly, poor memory.”

Part of the most angered Biden in the Hur report was that the then president did not remember his son Bor's death. But the new audio obtained by Axios reveals a mistake in Biden's memory.

In February 2024, Biden and several high-profile Democrats and media figures attacked Hull. Biden said at a press conference on the HUR report: "In reporting my memories of the incident, people have some attention to a certain language. I don't even remember when my son died or referenced.

At the time Vice President Kamala Harris slammed Harris in February 2024, saying his report was “useless, inaccurate and inappropriate.” She also suggested that this was “apparently politically motivated.” Harris recalled Biden’s acumen at the time, noting that Hur’s interview took place on October 8, 2023, just one day after Hamas’s attack on Israel. Harris said she "almost in every meeting" with Biden, who he "was ahead and most importantly in all of this."

Rep. Jerry Nadler (Dn.Y.) then-rep. D-Calif. Adam Schiff also criticized the special counsel, suggesting that Hur knew his description of Biden would "ignite a political fire," Hurs denied.

CNN said former Obama adviser David Axelrod also criticized the report, calling it a "scammer caught in Biden's re-election campaign."

Axios released a bombshell report on Friday, including a recording of Biden's interview with Hur, a former administration refused to release. The audio includes prolonged pauses, with Biden trying to recall the dates of several major events, including the election term of President Donald Trump, the death of his son or leaving as vice president.

Since his report was released, Hur has seen two critical moments in addition to Friday's report. The first time was his interview transcript was released in March 2024. At that time, the White House refused to release audio on the grounds of concerns about AI Deepfakes. Hur seemed to have been further defended when Biden had a disastrous debate with then-Trump in June 2024. Less than a month after debate, Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential election and recognized Harris.
