Recent One million Palestinians returned home-most found only rubble. Then on January 29th, Steve WitkofffF, the US Middle East, visited the "Netzarim Corridor" and became the first official in the United States to appear on Gaza soil for more than ten years.
Foreign media discussed this "strategic corridor" or "buffer" in detail, which is called the effectiveness of "military operations" and "control" Palestinians. But for us, people living in the suburbs have always been a nightmare. It caused unbearable pain and trauma to me and my family and other thousands of Palestinian people.
Netzarim is not a corridor. This is a large piece of land made by killing the people of the Palestinian and the houses of the Palestinian people in Nuseirat and Bureij, as well as AL-Mughraqa, AZ-Zahra, Zeitoun, JUHOR AD-DIK, etc. This is not some wise military strategy. This is another way to threaten the people of Gaza.
In the first few days of the war, we did not know that the areas near our family were selected as a "corridor". The air strikes are constantly, and everything on their road-houses, schools and gardens-without considering whether people are inside. The Israeli army is destroying everything in its own way, whether it is stone or humans.
Most air strikes occur at night, making us unable to fall asleep. Keep waiting for Next explosion. The sky will light up in a white or red manner. We will cover our ears and hide, knowing that the explosion is coming, but it is never sure how close it will be. According to the sound of the explosion, we will try to guess the type of missile or weapons used-drones, F16, F35, Apache helicopter or tank-and its hits, houses or farmland.
This is how war invasion and control us at night. Darkness can cause fear and anxiety. Children will worry about the explosion.
As part of the preparation of the establishment of a "corridor", the Israeli army bombarded all the high buildings around us. One of them is the five -story house of our neighbors, and the house was hit in the middle of the day. The explosion was so powerful that it completely destroyed two houses, partially damaged the other two houses, and demolished the front of our house and our "safety room".
The reason why we chose it was "safe" because it was the farthest from the building of another building, and the owner received a warning from the Israelites. Therefore, this room became a place we thought we were "safe" until the shock wave of the explosion fell on our outer wall and hurt us. My head was bruised and cut, but my brothers were severely injured and bleed inside, and some of my nieces and nephews of the skull and fracture bone fractures.
We decided to leave when we realized that during the day when we became dangerous at night. We sought asylum at the Al-AQSA Hospital in Deir El-Balah, waiting for the situation to improve or the war ended. But we leave our hearts at home. For us, even if security does not mean compared to at home.
A month later, we returned to our house and hoped to restore some normal sense. But not. The Israeli army is working hard to extend its "corridor" to the north of the Nuseirat camp, such as Az-Zahra and Al-Mughraqa.
As part of this effort, the Israeli forces regularly raid the northern region of NUSEIRAT. The familiar air strike sound is accompanied by the roar of tanks and strange military vehicles. With each small progress, the sound of gunfire burst crazy and randomly erupted, while the drone hovered near the window, listening to any sound. We don't know all these purposes, but we know that we are in danger. We will lie on the ground, turn off the lights to avoid being noticed, and pray that we wake up alive.
When our daily life collapses under the weight of fear, even the simplest routine disappears. My family and I once liked to drink coffee on the roof, watching the children playing on the street. Every time we try to sit on the roof, the drone will approach us from the top, and the shells will intensify, forcing us to rush back to the house out of fear.
In the end, we had to sit on the roof completely. The roof itself has become a dangerous place, even to fill the basic task of filling the water tank. We were forced to use boilers and pots to store water for our daily needs.
Just as we started to adapt, in December 2023, the Israeli army issued an order to evacuate the entire area. At first, we believed that the situation would not become worse, so we decided to be with the family of loses-my aunt's family, my uncle and my sister-stay in the house and persist.
But things will only become worse. During the day, it became as dangerous as night, and drones kept throwing bombs on major streets and markets. Our neighbors began to leave alone, and NUSEIRAT began to become a ghost town.
In the evening, the tank moved into the main streets and opened a shell to the house. The Apache helicopter flew over the head and shot everywhere. Fleeing with our family members, let us face the nightmare alone.
We finally decided to take refuge in a school near the East Relief Engineering Office near our house, thinking that this is safe, but this is not the case. Soon, the Israeli tank drove and surrounded the area, causing us to be trapped.
We must choose: schools that are no longer protected, or they fled south like everyone to Rafa or Deir El-Balah. We are four women, a 11-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy, still suffer from injury, an old man-our father-exhaustion, trying to ensure the safety and feeding of all of us. We have no choice but to go to Lafa.
After Lafa spent a full month, we decided to return home. We heard that the situation is improving. But this is not. "Netzarim Corridor" is larger than before, swallowing more Palestinian houses. The Israeli army destroyed the house on the northern border of NUSEIT to ensure that their troops entered and exited the camp when they wanted.
Invasion has become daily reality. Suddenly, we will hear the sound of tanks getting louder, and then deploy various weapons and aircraft. They will put off the spots above our house to illuminate the area and watch any movements. We will continue to fear and try to guess how far they will go this time. We rely on the voice of the vehicle to find out its position. Then, we will hear the terrible sound of firing artillery shells from the tank, waiting for it to hit one of the houses. Every time, we are worried that this may be us.
Nearby, the family will call on the Red Crescent to evacuate the injured person because it is almost impossible to leave home. Ambulance is rarely allowed to enter, and the injured people are begging the world to save them and be rescued. People die when they try to bring bread and water for their children. They will become a goal without mercy.
We will sit on this nightmare for several hours, and when the impact raid is over. When the troops eventually retreated, the Apache helicopter bypassed the top of the head and randomly fired to cover up its withdrawal. In addition to intimidating us, ensuring that fear can catch us, and clearly show that mobile north means death, all these seem to have no other purpose.
The situation remains unchanged for one year. The ceasefire announced on January 15 should have ended this kind of terror, but this is not the case. Even after effective, the shelling and bombing continue, and the demolition has not stopped. The limbs are still lingering around our house at night.
Just last week, the Israeli army bombed a bulldozer and tried to remove a car stuck on the Nuseirat road. Its driver was killed. The Israelites also killed a five -year -old girl with a trolley drawn by an animal and injured other girls in the west of the camp.
Two weeks after the ceasefire, we continued to live in fear. We still don't know when the Israelites and whether they completely exit their "corridors". However, the image of the people returning to the north of the north we see gave us hope that the nightmare of Netzarim will end soon, and we will also be pleased.
