Ncuti Gatwa leaves "Doctor Who" on Disney+ and BBC

Ncuti Gatwa is exiting TARDIS.

In the finale of the 14th series of “Who Doctor” series on Saturday, Gatwa’s Doctor regenerated Billie Piper, who previously played Companion Rose Tyler in Series 1 (2005) (2005) and Series 2 (2006). She also made a brief appearance as Rose Tyler in Series 4 (2008) and was on the 2013 "Who Who" 50th Anniversary Special.

At the end of the episode (Per BBC), an honor reads: “Ncuti Gatwa is the doctor of Jodie Whittaker.

Although it seems, Piper will technically be the next doctor. In a statement shared with the BBC, Piper said fans will have to wait longer to find out what she means for the series’ reward.

"How much I love this show, I keep saying I want to go back to whoniverse because I have some great memories there, so having the opportunity to give up that tardis again, it's just something I can't refuse, but who you are, how, when, when and when you wait, you have to wait and see."

Rumors have been on the potential departure of Gatwa since the show's Season 2 premiered, but with the ratings of last season it has been lowered. Gatwa became the first publicly queer black actor’s history, leading “Doctoral Health” with companions Millie Gibson and Varada Sethu, series Stalwart Russell T Davies as performer, writer and executive producer. His departure marks the second shortest time any actor has spent as a doctor – just one more season than Christopher Eccleston – and of course, the future of the iconic British British is uncertain.

"Who Doctor Who" was originally ordered on Disney+ and the BBC for two seasons, but has not been renewed. When asked VAGatwa's boom in April continued to return to its third season in April, Gatwa left his mom and said, "My head is only season 2 because it's so epic. It's very ironic that in a show about time travel you can't talk about the future, but I can talk about the glory of Season 2 and its outstanding performance."

Gatwa served as Doctor Who on stage and starred in "The Importance of Seriousness" at London's National Theatre before January. It was recently announced that he will lead another "Born in Teeth" drama in the West this summer. He is also filming Jay Roach's black comedy The Roses, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, and others.
