Tired of watching the Red Sox? The NCAA Baseball Championship will have a distinct New England style. Five regional teams qualified: Central Connecticut, Fairfield, Holy Cross, Northeast. and Rhode Island.

The double elimination zone race began on Friday.

The Husky went to Tallahassee, Florida and played Mississippi State at 7:30 pm (ESPN+).

Holy Cross begins at noon (ACC Network) with the top seed UNC in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Fairfield heads to Conway, South Carolina, facing the host coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. (ESPN+).

Central Connecticut is in Auburn, Alabama, against host Tigers at 7 p.m. (ESPN+).

Rhode Island faces Dallas Baptist Church (ESPN+) at 7:30 p.m. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

There are dozens of players in the entire brackets in Massachusetts.

Not surprisingly, the Northeast is leading by 23 Massachusetts locals. Six of them are from Metrowest and Big Milford:

Nick Andersen, Holy Cross

Fremingham's freshman plays in Belmont Hill. He hasn't made his debut yet.

Carter Bentley of the Northeast

Westborough natives played high school baseball at Rivers School. He has 2 hits, including two hits and five RBIs, making 12 appearances in 2025.

Jack Byrne, Fairfield

Natick graduates have 13 games in their freshman season. Byrne scored doubles and 3 RBIs in 7 bats and got 4 runs.

Henry Digiorgio, Northeast

In his first season, he played five games in 11 games, recording three hits and walks.

Will Fosberg, Northeast

The Natick graduate has six doubles, three home runs and two in his 27 shooting percentages. The Redshirt sophomore contributed 14 RBIs with a hit rate of .221.

Ryan Gerety, Northeast

A sophomore from Franklin scored .291 this year with 11 doubles and 5 home runs. He drove with 33 runs and walked 40 times, ranking second, with a base percentage of 0.415 in 55 games.

Matt Lussier, Fairfield

The sophomore from Wellesley started four games this season and made a 21-stroke appearance. He ran 4 runs with 6 shots and scored 3.

Ryan Maiorano, Fairfield

Sophomore from Bellingham made eight appearances last season but did not compete in 2025.

Connor Peek, Holy Cross

He is the All Patriots League 2 winner this spring and the winner of the Ray Dobens Award, awarded the Crusaders' most progressive player. Lincoln-Sudbury graduates are second in the Patriots League champions’ 38 games. He had 8 doubles and 28 RBIs, with a total of 43 hits.

Anthony Ruggiero in Northeast China

NIPMUC graduates are freshmen of the Huskimo. He has not competed this season.

Cooper Tarantino, Northeast

Lincoln-Sudbury's product had one hit and one RBI in his 4 appearances, including a start against Harvard.
