The NBA said Monday that the referee missed the Los Angeles Lakers' Luka Doncic against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference playoff series.

The Lakers beat Doncic 114-113 on Sunday to trip over Jaden McDaniels of Minnesota near Midcourt, Minnesota - which seems to be ad. Doncic retained ownership on the floor, and the Lakers announced a timeout to avoid eight-second violations.

It was one of two unnamed fouls later in the single-point playoff game on Sunday, the other was Tim Hardaway Jr. of New York's Josh Hart Fouling Detroit's Tim Hardaway Jr. Hardaway won 94-93, and the NBA said shortly after that Hardaway did get fouled.

"McDaniel (Min) made his way to Doncic (LAL), causing illegal foot contact, which left him out of balance," the NBA said in a final two-minute report on the Timberwolves-Lakers game on Monday. The NBA released these reports at any time in the fourth quarter and in the last two minutes of overtime the next day after the game.

Doncic said more directly. "I must have tripped," he said.

If the foul is called, Doncic will enter the free throw line and have a chance to lead the score or give the Lakers a lead. Instead, Minnesota stole the en route pass that followed LeBron James, with Anthony Edwards leaving 10.9 seconds left with two free throws with a 116-113 lead.

That game also caused anger among the Lakers, and James said he hit Edwards and caused something he thought should be a turnover. The NBA reviewed the game and ruled that James hit Edwards in the wrist and considered it a foul.

"That game has been happening all the time," James said after the game. "The hand is part of the ball. That's what they said. I think the hand is part of that ball."

The Lakers' Austin Reaves missed a potential 3-pointer in the final game, with Minnesota winning with three points.

The Knicks and the Timberwolves both led 3-1 after Sunday's victory. Detroit will play in Game 5 of the series in New York on Tuesday, with the Lakers hosting Minnesota in Game 5 Wednesday.
