NASCAR Cup Series Match Day Attractions and Sounds at Talladega SuperSpeedway
Attractions and sounds held at the NASCAR Cup Series Game Day at Talladega SuperSpeedway as Jack runs 500 times Sunday afternoon.
The NASCAR race at Richmond Speedway this summer will be held from August 14 to 16. Who is your driver, the sober and safe driving program created by Drive Smart Virginia will return to serve as a companion.
“We are excited to get your driver back to be the host of our huge race weekend,” said Richmond Raceway President Lori Collier Waran. “When we look forward to welcoming Saturday night’s race at our historic racecourse, we thank our designated drivers for taking all fans home safely.”
"NASCAR fans know that future plans are key to success — both on the track and on the track," said Kristin Pettway, executive director of Drive Smart Virginia. "When we prepare for an exciting race weekend at Richmond Speedway, we encourage all fans to celebrate responsibly by designating sober drivers or scheduling a safe ride home. Just as their favorite drivers rely on solid game plans, they can safely reach the finish line, and racing fans should do the same. Let's make smart choices and make sure everyone can come home safely."
In addition to driving Smart Virginia, WHO is your driver sports created with the Automobile Department’s Highway Safety Office and Richmond Raceway. The sport promotes safe, sober driving and encourages drivers to drive through buckling, never under influence, and do everything possible to keep themselves and others protected on the road to take their role seriously.
According to a press release, 400 people were injured and 293 people were killed in 2023 due to alcohol-related traffic accidents in Virginia. In the same year, 335 unsubmissions were killed, accounting for 54% of all crash deaths in vehicles equipped with safety restrictions.
“These statistics remind people of the life-threatening consequences of driving damaged without wearing seat belts,” said Gerald Lackey, commissioner of the Governor’s Highway Safety Representative DMV. “Racing drivers believe their crew can ensure their safety; drivers and fans must believe that they make responsible choices – design a sober driver, wear seat belts and avoid distractions. The real victory is when all of us make safe driving choices and arrive at our destination safely.”
NASCAR will only visit Richmond Raceway once in 2025, but the track will remain active during concerts, community events and Nitrocross race weekends from September 7 to 8.
