The satirical drama based on UnitedHealthCare CEO murder suspect Luigi Mangione will debut in San Francisco next month.
"Luigi: Musical" is a comedy show centered on Mangione, 26, an Ivy League graduate accused of killing Brian Thompson, 50, of UnitedHealthCare CEO, outside a Hilton hotel in December.
The show’s website calls it “savage, surreal, funny” and “emotional honesty,” imagining the cultural fascination of the Mangenin case, which imagines him “sharing a prison with real-life prisoner Sam Bankman, who blows up and Sean Diddy’Combs.”
On the drama’s Instagram account, the actor who played Mangione was singing a line about the incident that led to his arrest, “There were those pearly white people, there were cameras there that night, and that’s why the police brought me in.”

The 60-minute show will debut on June 13 at the Taylor Street Theatre. Tickets for the entire run are currently sold out, but more dates will be announced soon.
The creators of the show clarified that this is not “celebrating any form of violence” or to convey information about “ongoing legal matters.”
"Our hearts pay tribute to Brian Thompson's family, and we acknowledge the pain and complexity surrounding the case," they wrote on the show's website.
The satirical performance will explore the "deeper cultural issues" about why some people celebrate Mangione and ask why Americans have been disillusioned by institutions like "Healthcare, Tech, and Hollywood."

Luigi Mangione, 26, is accused of killing Brian Thompson, 50, of December, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare.
"Our hope is Luigi: musicals make people laugh - and think. We are not here to do moral declarations. We are here to explore, humor and heart, and feel the feeling of a trustworthy age life in a system we should have trusted."
Mangione has been praised by some corners of the left for allegedly killing health care executives. Supporters of the suspect on social media believe that Thompson’s murder is morally justified due to people’s resentment towards the U.S. health care industry.
Over the past five months, supporters of Mangione have raised more than $967,000 for its legal defense fund.
