Mumford & Sons will announce their return on their railroad revival journey after raiding the railway for the first time in more than a decade.
The 2025 summer run will leave the 2011 Tour on August 3 at Woldenberg Park in New Orleans. Allianz Amphitheater in Richmond, Va. (August 5); and Champlain Valley Fair Center in Burlington, Vermont (August 7). All four outdoor venues are located near the local train station.
Just like the initial Rail Revival Tour, Mumford & Sons will join in with a range of special guests, each with a unique and new performance and collaboration. The lineup currently has Nathaniel Rateliff, Trombone Shorty, Madison Cunningham, Lucius, Celisse, Chris Thile, Ketch Secor and Leif Vollebekk, and more artists have been announced.
"We feel like we have some unfinished business on the Big American Railroad, which will be the coolest house band we have ever had," Marcus Mumford said in a statement.
Tickets for the 2025 Rail Revival Tour will be available for sale at 10 a.m. on Friday at local time. Members of Mumford & Sons’ Agora fan community will receive pre-sale tickets at 10 a.m. local time. The complete information can be found on the band's website.
With the support of groups like Edward Sharpe and Old Crow Medicine, Mumford & Sons began its 2011 original rail revival journey in 2011. Documentary about the trek, Big Easy Expressdirected by Emmett Malloy and nominated for the 55th Grammy Awards.
With the Rail Revival Tour, Mumford & Sons also started a more traditional North American tour to support its latest album, Track ruts. The run started on June 5 in Bend, Oregon, and the date is scheduled to take place on October 26 in Omaha, Nebraska.
