Kami Rita Sherpa broke his own record to climb the top of Mount Everest, reaching its peak for the 31st time on Tuesday. Kami Rita, 55, climbed the world's tallest mountain for the first time in 1994 when she was 24 years old.

Kami Rita has climbed Mount Everest almost every year since the 1990s, sometimes completing two climbs in one climbing season. For example, in 2019, he arrived at the summit twice in a week.

Climbing miles above the Shanghai plane

Kami Rita is a legendary climber who has hiked to many of the world's highest peaks. But just considering his Everest summit, he climbed nearly 90,000 feet above the famous peak at an altitude of 90,000 feet: 89,992 feet, using the latest assessment of Mount Everest’s height.

That is about 170.5 miles higher than sea level, equivalent to the upper atmosphere of the Earth, and sometimes the height of the orbiting satellites.

Will anyone catch Kami Rita?

Currently, Pasang Dawa Sherpa is the closest competitor to most of Everest’s rising Kami Rita’s Guinness World Records. He was known as Pa Dawa, and four years after Kami Rita first reached altitude, he completed his first Everest summit - but completed two climbs multiple times in a season.

A new feat was recorded this season, when Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa, 29, was recorded at the time. Himalaya Times Report. He has now reached eight peaks.

Another emerging competitor is Nima Rinji Sherpa, who became the youngest man over the age of 18 to the world's 14 highest peaks last year. Nima Rinji recently wrote on Instagram that his ambitions fill what he calls “a lot of space left in the history books of mountaineering,” mentioning projects such as the lack of fixed ropes in winter, supplementing oxygen and other auxiliary tools, such as climbing 8,000 meters of peaks in winter.

Records are broken in uncertain climbing season

Kami Rita arrived at the summit on Mount Everest around 4 a.m. Tuesday while leading a team on seven summit hikes, according to the expedition.

“He is not only a national climbing hero, but a global symbol of Mount Everest itself,” the agency said in announcing the feat. “I wish him a safe drop back to base camp and look forward to welcoming him in Kathmandu.”

New Zealanders Edmund Hillary and Nepali Sherpa Tenzing Norgay were the first climbing team to summit Mount Everest, known in Nepali people as Sagarmatha. They completed the climb in May 1953.

But in recent years, Everest has seen high-altitude traffic congestion as hundreds of climbers try to reach the summit on a compressed schedule, and extreme winds shorten the climbing season.

As Kathmandu Post According to reports in mid-May, "The Nepal Tourism Authority has issued permits to 456 foreign climbers, well below the 479 records granted in 2023. When considered in Nepal's guidelines, it is often distributed in a one-to-one ratio, and more than 1,000 people may try to reach the highest."
