Many other artists have signed a joint statement in support of Kneecap.
Fontaines DC, Annie Mac, Biceps, Mass Attack and Christy Moore are all one of the artists who signed an open letter by Kneecap’s record company Heavenly Recordings.
The statement said there was a "clear, consistent attempt to review and eventually dry up" the band.
It accused Westminster and the British media of "openly participating in the campaign to remove Kneecap from the public's eyes".
"As artists, we feel the need to object to any political repression of artistic freedom," the statement added.
“In a democratic country, no politician or party should have the right to decide who plays it at a music festival or performance, and thousands of people will enjoy it.”

Kneecap is an Irish-talking rap three who faced controversy with provocative lyrics and merchandise.
The group was founded in 2017 by three friends, who were founded under the stage names of Mo Chara, MóglaíBap and DjPróvaí.
Their reputation inspired a semi-fiction film starring Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender.
The film won the British Film Academy Award (BAFTA) in February 2025.
Last week, during a show in November 2023, the West Belfast trio appeared in a video that seemed to say to one of the band: "The only good Conservative party is a dead Conservative party. Kill your local MP."
The daughter of conservative MP David Amess, whose father was stabbed to death during a constituency surgery, demanded an apology from Kneecap.
"Excerpts of videos intentionally taken from all situations are being exploited and weapons, as if they were called for action," the band said in a statement on X.
They also called some of these rebounds a “smear movement” and said it was a “transparent effort to make the real dialogue “start out of their “love” message and support for Palestine.
