In its first deal since winning the Oscar aorMikey Madison has signed to star in reptilea unique thriller from Alejandro Landes echavarría.

Kirsten Dunst also starred in an independent character with a strong production team behind him, including Pastel (moonlight), commanding entertainment (Huayue's killer) and international production company AF movies. Landes Echavarría is also produced through his Stela Cine banner.

Black Bear is funding the title, which is scheduled to launch in the Cannes Film Market through Charades, Charades, UTA Independent Gilm Group and 30 West.

Based on the script by Landes Echavarría and Duke Merriman, the story follows a dental hygienist who is attracted by a mysterious mermaid to the dark and wet underworld of Florida’s exotic animal trade.

According to the announcement, major photography will begin in fall 2025.
